We had been walking on the path that went around the park.

"So Juniper, how do you like NHS so far?" Gordon asked me.

"Well it's alright I guess. Kinda wish girls weren't... y'know."

"Well, you are the son of Lloyd and Medellah so...."

"She prefers to be called Meadow you know, it was her nickname given to her by my dad when they were kids."

"Well, yeah I know that. But using a nickname seems disrespectful to me so I don't use it." He  said.

"Understandable." I shrugged.

We walked around a bit and then we were nearing a shallow pond so Brook and Gordon  slowed down a bit and let us go ahead.

I sure hope this works.

For the longest time there was silent between us. Then I decided to ask a question to start the conversation but it went wrong immediately.

"How old are you if you don't mind asking?" I asked. Nicole just looked at me with hatred. We stared at each other for a second and then turned away; Nicole, out of despite, I, out of embarrassment.

"I'm 15." She finally says to me.

"You did say you were a sophomore, right?" I recalled and she just nods. After that it went silent again. I cleared my voice.

"I always see you wear that beanie. Is there a specific reason why you do?"

"No, I just like it. My dad gave it to me." She pulled the hat up a bit for it was slipping off her head.

"Which one, if you don't mind me asking?" I turned my head to the side.

"Jay."

"Well, if that's true, then why do you wear a hoodie during gym?" I asked.

"I just do." She crossed her arms.

"Ya know, if there is anything bothering you, you can just tell me." We stopped beside the pond.

"Thanks but no thanks. Sometimes you can only trust yourself."

"So there is something bothering you. Is it Cynthia?"

"First of all, there is nothing bothering me and secondly, just don't say her name!"

"So it is her? Nicole if you want to talk about it, I'm here for you." I smiled. But she just stopped and glared at me.

"She's not my problem!!!" Then she whipped around and pushed me into the pond.

I understood that she hated me but she didn't need to push me into cold water to show that.

This gave me such a shock that my ears and tail were showing so I forced them to the sides of my head until I was calm. I started getting a small headache from the sudden spring of my ears so I closed my eyes a bit in pain. I opened them and saw a hand stretched out towards me. I stared at it.

"Just hurry up and take it before I decide to leave you like that....." I looked up and saw Nicole. She hadn't seen my ears yet.

"Well?" I looked at her outstretched hand again and took it.

She pulled me out of the water. I glanced at her and realized she had saved me. In her hands was a frisbee, which she chucked it back to the owners. Our eyes met and we turned away quickly. I could feel heat rushing up to my face.

"So uh, thanks for you know......" I mumble just loud enough for her to hear.

"You're welcome.....you know you should be more careful about your surround-" She stopped and stared at my head. I forgot about my ears and put them away.

"You're a werewolf....?" She stared at me wide eyed.

"Oh! Actually I'm half ookami I think...? My mom isn't full ookami because of a potion incident and my dad is an elemental master. But the potion kinda messed up my genes and stuff and now I have, Well you know.... So kinda technically human but not fully."

"Wow, well I'm a uh well....."

"You're.....what?"

"I'm just.....surprised. You're an ookami yet you can hide your ears and tail." She looked at my head where my ears once were.

"I learned how to when I was really young. I didn't even know I was one until I started grade school." I said.

"Did you have trouble accepting yourself?"

"Well......yeah. I had so much going on then. I was the only half blood in my class. Everyone would make fun of me, they'd pull onto my ears and tail. Everyone would just ignore me, even other hybrids would just block me out. It was really stressful that everyone hated me even though they pretty much knew who my dad was."

"I can see why. Did you're cousins help out?"

"Well, when they started kindergarten, I hung out with them. Everyone seemed really scared of Chryssa, so I guess that helped. Except on days she was absent. But when we entered middle school, there were more hybrids and the bullying stopped but most people just ignored me. I think that's when I started fighting along with my parents as a ninja. No one really knew I was 'Lloyd Jr'. and those who did, would gossip about it. I have a lot more friends here in high school though though reputation I get here......I wish it would tone down just a bit."

"Well, Cynthia likes you and so do other girls. Girls have this weird attraction to blonde guys with good personalities. Though they don't see that those kind of guys don't care for love and friendzone their admirers." She stayed silent after that.

"Nicole?"

"Hmm?" She turned her head.

"Is that what you see in me?" Her eyes grew wide.

"Well, I mean, I don't see that in you. Only some. But I know you care for others. Just that it may not go forward to a love kind of relationship. Probably just friendship... That still sounds like what I just said. Hmm, it's more like you'd prefer friends over lovers...?"

"Hmm.......I guess that's true for me. Huh, I never thought of that." I put a hand to my chin.

While Juniper and Nicole were talking, Brook and Gordon  were doing their own thing.

"OHMYGOSHOHMYGOSHOHMYGOSH!!!!" Gordon shouted over and over again.

"Do you ship them?" Brook raised an eyebrow and smiled, already knowing the answer.

"Obviously!" Gordon giggled.
