We began to watch movie after movie. Genre after genre. As the time went by and the sun faded, we fell into the bed and comfy blankets. In the middle of some horror alien movie I heard a faint snore. I look over at Dean and found him sleeping. He looked so peaceful and calm. He looked like a child. Not a care in the world. I sighed as I slowly got up to turn off the TV, hoping not to awake Dean. I turned off the TV and fell in darkness. I held my hands out to feel what's in front of me to find my bed. I found it and sat on the edge of it. I picked up my phone to check the time. The phone blinded me. I groaned. "I really got to keep the brightness down." I whispered quietly to myself. It was 2:47 am. "Thank God we don't work tomorrow..." I threw myself under the blankets and felt a warmth not caused by blankets. I found myself under Dean's blankets. I felt his breath hit my face and focused on its rhythm. I touched his face so lightly I don't think I felt it. I ran two fingers along his jawline and felt his stubble growing in. I put my hand down and rested it near my face. My eyes began to close. All I could hear was both of our breathing and faint crickets outside. I dosed off, in my own thoughts.
Just when I was about to fall asleep, the crickets stop. I slowly open my eyes to only hear silence. Dean was still beside me. My breaths began to shake. My anxiety began to hit. To make matters worse I began to hear my front door being opened. I stopped breathing and heard foot steps, walking around in the rooms outside my bedroom door. I moved my hand to make sure Dean was still besides me. Sure enough he was. I sat up in a panic. My breathing increased. I began to shake Dean softly. It was enough to wake him.
"Dean." he opened his eyes and lifted his head to see me. "I think someone is in the house..." that said enough to get him out of bed.
"You got anything I could defend myself with?" he whispered as he stood up, listening for himself.
"I have a bat in my closet." he went over to my closet and found the bat. I got up and went behind him. He slowly opened the door and parked through. We both saw a dark figure going through my junk drawer in my kitchen. We began to walk slowly towards the intruder. Dean raised the bat and signaled for me to turn on the lights. I walk over to the light switch. Can raised the bag over his head getting ready to swing. Just then I turned on the lights. The intruder turned around and grabbed the bat from Dean. I took a step back and felt someone grab me from behind. There was another one. Dean stood and stared at the guy with the bat. He was dressed in all black and covered his face.
"Pretty brave.." the one with the bat snickered. "Also pretty stupid..." he whacked Dean's calf, hard enough to make him fall to the floor.
Dean winced in pain, holding his leg. "Take whatever! I don't care!" I shouted. I just wanted this to be over. I could hear my heart beating out of my chest.
"I'm here for one thing." a guy came up behind me and grabbed my arms and pinned them behind my back. Then the guy with the bat approached me slowly. "I'm here for you."
"What? Me? Why?!" I tried to free his grip from my arms but it only made it worse and hurt more.
"Why would you want to know?" he got to my face. "All I'm gonna tell you is that you should be very scared." I felt my breath hit his face as my heart began to race even faster. I looked behind him and Dean raised his fist and punched the guy in front of me. I used that as a diversion and elbowed the guy behind me. I ran toward and turned around and threw the hardest punch in my life. I felt a sharp paint in my knuckles as I struck the guy behind me in the face. That knocked him out cold. I held my knuckles, trying not to scream. I turned to find Dean and the other guy in a one on one brawl. Only the guy had the bat still. I freaked out and lifted a metal folding chair besides a box. I swung and hit the guy.
