Chapter One
I searched around for the annoying sound of my alarm I had gotten used to not hearing that every morning.
I slammed my hand down and cracked my eyelids open.
Today was my first day of senior year I didn't know whether I should be excited, nervous or scared.
I reluctantly got out of bed and jumped in the shower.
Once I was satisfied that I was all clean I blow dried my hair and left it so it would fall in its natural curls and then I applied light make-up, eyeliner and mascara.
When I finished with my make-up I went in my closet to pick out an outfit that was harder than I thought.
“I should have chosen something last night” I said alloud; the thing about me was I always said stuff out loud especially when I really shouldn’t.
Finally after ten minutes of trying to find something I put on a white summer dress with a thin brown belt under the bust it was still hot outside for the beginning of September so I thought I’d better make the most of it.
I slipped on my brown, leather wedges and looked at myself in the mirror, I looked ok for my first day of senior year but I was still the plain old me just more tanned and taller.
I had long brown curly hair, I had a few freckled on my nose and had a normal figure even though most of the boys would say I had an ‘awesome body’ I didn't see it.
The only unusual and unique thing about me is my eyes they were pale blue with violet flecks, but you have to be super close to see the violet. I half walked half jogged down the stairs knowing I’m late for school, I grabbed a cereal bar and about to pull open the refrigerator when I notice a note on it.
Hi Arianne,
Sorry but we had to leave last night urgent business trip and we didn't want to wake you I will call soon to find out how your first day back at school has gone, we shouldn’t be gone long.
Good luck today and don't get into too much trouble.
Oh we’re getting new neighbours today, don't forget. Make sure you leave a good impression and please apologize for us not being home and they will have to come for dinner when we get back.Mum and Dad x
“Ha typical don’t even tell me your going away stupid parents don't care about me. Always going away and only care about them, the stupid neighbours won’t care what we’re like... Stupid, stupid, stupid.”I was still mumbling when I stepped outside and bumped into my best friend.
“AHHH” I screamed as we both fell to the floor.
My best friend Stacy started laughing.
“Holy crap you scared the shit out of me Ari” she said.
I have known Stacy all my life and that’s why she’s my best friend and the fact that we are too peas in a pod.
“I didn't even know you were there” we both started laughing again.
“So I take it you want a lift with me then missus” I asked her once our laughter died down.
“Hell yeah I did and plus your parents got you an awesome eighteenth birthday present so you might as well flaunt it and plus I want a ride... oh and you is looking hot girl” she said as she jumped up.
My eighteenth birthday was two days ago and my mum and dad brought me a black Aston Martin DBS Volante.
Although my parents only got me this car because they normally miss my birthday so they thought they would make up for it by buying me a really expensive car, which I totally didn't mind but they always just try and buy my happiness.
“Stupid parents.”
“Oh god what have they done now.” Stacy said as we pulled off my drive.
“Huh” I said.
“You said ‘stupid parents’ what have they done now?” oh I said it aloud as always.
“They have gone on another business trip without telling me and we have new neighbours and I have to keep up appearances and be the snotty little brat that they want me to be ergh that are so fucking annoying” I whined.
“Wait they’re gone you know what that means... PARTY!!!” she shouted.
“Hell yeah.” I said Stacy and I had this tradition where when ours parents went away we would have a party on the same night and for me I had a party very often.
On the ride to school we planned the party for tonight and having to invite people on short notice and it’s a school night.
Once we got into school I noticed everyone staring at us.
“Weird.”
“It’s because of your car dumbass.” Stacy said replying to my spoken thought.
“Yeah well this is going to be a very interesting year.” I said thinking about my multiple parties we have planned and Stacy wants me to become popular with her.
Stacy is head cheerleader so she’s the prettiest, sexiest girl in school very cliché I know.
Stacy being head cheerleader and me not on the team makes me the geek friend who’s not popular at all.
“Hey Stace, Hey Ari”we both turned round to find Tristan the hottest boy in school, fastest swimmer on the swim team but also the boyfriend of mine and Stacy worst enemy, Candy Bruce which I just noticed was hanging on his arm looking pissed.
“Hi Trist” we both say at once.
We carry on walking hearing Candy arguing with Tristan about us I can feel her glare at the back of my head, oh I was so going to pay for that.
“Fantastic.”
