Ch.15 The Compromise

(So as you could already tell, the option that got the most comments was for Skye to go meet up with Chase, I hope you enjoy!)

Outside of Chase's Doghouse

Since it's night, Skye knocks on the Shepherd's door as quietly as she can but enough to get his attention.

Skye: "Chase? I'm here." She whispers.

Chase: "Skye? You still decided to come?" He whispers back.

Skye: "Well, yeah... I want to hear what you have to say."

Chase: "That's nice and everything but we have a problem now."

Skye: "What is it?"

Chase: "Now, don't do anything crazy but..."

The German Shepherd opens his door wide enough to reveal a sleeping Everest beside him.

Momentarily, Skye was taken aback but could feel her blood beginning to boil.

Skye: "Why is she in your room?!" She half-whispers half-yells.

Chase: "Ryder said she needed a place to sleep and she's sort of my girlfriend now so I kind of had no choice."

Skye: "But... I remember when I first got recruited I had to sleep in Marshall's room. When I would've rather stayed almost anywhere else."

Chase: "Skye, now you know why I had to let that happen. He-"

Just then Everest rolls over onto her other side.

Chase: "Let's go somewhere else."

Skye: "We could go to my place."

Chase: "How about we go somewhere more open and further away from everyone that's sleeping. Somewhere like the beach?"

Skye: "Yeah and nobody would suspect us to be at a beach in the middle of the night."

Chase: "Exactly and with the moon that bright we can still see each other."

She couldn't help but smile at his statement.

Skye: "Then it's perfect, let's go."

In order to avoid any loud noises from Chase's cruiser or Skye's helicopter, they decided it'd be best to walk.

Chase: "It's a lovely night for a walk anyways." He grins.

Skye: "Yeah, I wish we could've had more walks like this."

The German Shepherd's smile disappears once he remembers the lie he has to go along with.

Chase: "I know. If Everest even knew I was out here with you right now, she'd never let me out of her sight again."

Skye: "She would do that, but I don't think I know her all that well actually. Maybe we were never besties or friends to begin with because I didn't even know that she liked you like that and all this time too."

The German Shepherd chooses his next words very carefully.

Chase: "I guess some people are really good at keeping secrets."

Skye: "Yeah, that's the problem because now me and her can't stand each other." She scoffs.

Chase: "So, you two have to be kept separated. Which means I'll have to choose between you two, won't I?"

Skye: "Yeah and I know it's an easy decision for you to make."

Chase: "Why would you think that?"

Skye: "Really? I took the news about your new relationship status horribly and I really wasn't the best behaved with that snake- uh, I mean, your new girlfriend."
