Based on Season 2 Episode 4 Abomination
Scarlet was extremely happy. So much so that she flew around racing the boys, she soared through the sky faster than the Camero Derek and Asher were driving. The Phoenix was finally reborn. There was a lightness in her heart, one that made her smile and not be able to stop. She was finally herself again. Asher and Scarlet went out to a small, quaint diner for some food while Derek said his day wasn't over just yet. The Alpha went back to where he resided to help his betas get better at fighting. Eventually, after burgers and intense fighting, they all were finally back to the Stilinski residence sitting in her room talking about nothing for a while.
"So, lacrosse game tonight, who's coming?" Scarlet asked the two as she shuffled through her boxes.
"I can come with you, considering you'll be going alone right?" Asher asked and she nodded remembering that she told him that the Sheriff had to work late that night.
"Derek?" She asked.
"Oh, you don't want to know." He spoke deliberately with a smirk and Scarlet rolled her eyes.
"Don't get anyone killed."
"Can't promise anything." He shrugged. "So, Stiles seems fond of you." Derek lifts up a flannel that reeked the scent of the boy.
"Leave him alone." She grabbed it out of his hand holding it to her chest before putting it down on the bed.
"I didn't say I was going to do anything all I said was he seem fond of you." He made a face at her and she stuck her tongue out at him.
Scarlet sat down on the bed and watched the two of them as they talked with light banter. They told her earlier in the forest that they'd met each other quickly after she had died. Asher went looking for her and came across Derek who he had heard about through her. He helped Derek recover from the broken mess he was after his family had died.
"You okay Little Red?" Asher asked and she snapped out of it realizing that she had been gazing at the two and now they were returning that favor.
"With all that's going on, it's nice to hang out with the two of you for a change," Scarlet said looking down and playing with her fingers. "When I died, the - ah - the Alpha pack was waiting for me. I don't understand how they knew what to do. They forced me into combat so I would turn and they got me right where they wanted me. God, I was so stupid. While I was fending off against two of them two others went for my legs and arms. It's all so blurry." She paused and her eyes wandered the room sporadically as she tried to remember the events. "I just - I just remember being tied up and I was hanging from something by my hands. It must have been days, wherever they had me. They tried to ask me questions about myself and the Hales but after what felt like two days my body was just numb. Nothing they did to me mattered after then. They forced me to drink from this water bottle full of water mixed with mountain ash which obviously was rejected by my body and - ah - they beat me up so badly my body died just to be reborn. My own body killed me to bring me back younger, and stronger." Scarlet scoffed and her fingers dug into her palm. The boys had stayed silent, wanting to hear all that Scarlet hadn't told them. The pain radiated off from her. Asher frowned as he heard all the things Scarlet had been saying. "I died, and I couldn't be here for either of you. Asher, I'm glad things weren't excessively hectic for you, from what I know. But, Derek, you and your family needed me when Kate did what she did, I am so sorry for that. For them to die in the element I'm born from," She balled her fists shaking her head. "It shouldn't have happened like it did."
"Scarlet," Derek walked over to her, sat down and placed his hands over hers. "You can't save everybody."
"But, I have to try!" She broke her hands from his and stood up angrily looking out the window at nothing specifically. "It's who I am. I'm the Phoenix, the one reborn from the ashes. The one who's supposed to save people, the protector, the almighty creation, a gift to the world for fuck's sake." She rambled mockingly before she punched the window. As it shattered the glass scraped her hand creating gashes that quickly reconstructed. "Why do I have the ability to heal if I can't use it for good huh?" She turned to look at the two holding her hand up.
