Epilogue
After that night, everything began to calm down. Jackson decided it was the best move for himself to get out of Beacon Hills and transfer to London. Of course, Lydia was devastated although he was an incredibly toxic person to be in a relationship and Scarlet was honestly glad he was leaving. Scarlet was able to sit down with Lydia and Allison during a necessary sleepover and essentially explained everything she could to them and later had done the same with Scott over lunch. They were all incredibly supportive of her and she knew they would be from the start, mostly as Allison was no longer under Gerard's spell. Lydia although just recently being brought into the world of the supernatural was incredible at understanding everything Scarlet was telling her, but it was no surprise the girl was a genius. Scott as she'd thought had been open to her and everything she'd said he acknowledged and allowed for her to explain before he opened his mouth. He was upset with the fact that she kept it all a secret for so long but not as upset as Stiles still was. They were able to talk more but there was still an awkward tension between the two and it annoyed Scarlet although she wouldn't tell him. She didn't want to push him further than he already seemed to be.
The following weeks progressed and there was one specific Friday where it all went downhill just when they thought it was over. Scarlet and Asher were at his house making food in his kitchen for their weekly dinner. They composed it since they hadn't seen much of one another since coming to Beacon Hills, well not as much as they used to. Additionally to the dinner, the two were baking brownies for a desert as they were going to watch some movies. Scarlet had accidentally touched the open oven when she went to place the brownies in and she recoiled her hand in pain. The burning continued as the red spot on her hand failed to disappear.
"Ash?" She called hesitantly and he looked up with flour on his cheeks as she held up the hand refusing to heal.
"What the hell?" He dropped the wooden spoon within the bowl of brownie mix and took a long stride to her, picking up her hand. He stared in confusion poked the reddened skin and she winced. "I thought all your abilities were back."
"I did too." She muttered and he reached over her to turn the oven off.
"Let's go, we can ask Deaton about it." He walked past a mirror wiping the flour off his face and hands before flinging his jacket over his broad shoulders.
The two left the house and Asher drove speedily through the streets. Thankfully, not slamming into any cars or having any police nearby to see the recklessness occur. Scarlet was intensely inspecting the way her hand was burned as she thought of possible reasons as to why it wasn't healing. She wasn't really able to come up with anything as it was a new occurrence for her. It wasn't long before they were at the clinic and getting out of the car.
"Alan?" She called pushing through the door that surprisingly still had the 'Open' sign on it. After a couple of seconds, Deaton appeared in the doorway of the area where he'd actually work on patients. "We have a problem. Is Scott here?" She asked cautiously in a lower voice as she moved over to where he stood.
"No, I let him leave early tonight. Why, do you need him here?" He queried and she shook her head.
"It's better to keep this between just us three." She rose her hand showing the back of it to him after he tilted his head in confusion. "I'm not healing, at all." She added the last part when he hadn't caught on completely.
"How long ago did this happen?" He wondered walking her over to the metal table in the middle of the room allowing the light to shine on the hand so he could see better. Scarlet explained it had only been maybe ten minutes and he nodded with furrowed brows. "Can you use any of your other abilities? The claws, wings, eyes, or anything?" He wondered aloud and she shrugged.
