"Where the heck is Naruto?!" mumbled Suki, tapping her foot.
He usually isn't late for ramen... Where could that idiot be?!!
"SUKI-CHAN!" Naruto was walking towards the girl with an arm in the air, waving it at her.
"Finally!" Suki smiled, waiting for the blonde.
The two finally started walking through the village to their favorite ramen shop. Suki held closely onto Naruto's arm, smiling and giggling along the way until a familiar voice caught their attention.
Uchiha Sasuke, the survivor of his clan, the last in Konoha, the avenger.
"Yo."
"Sasuke!" Naruto yelled, eager to know what he was up to.
How odd of Uchiha to talk to us first... or at all? I wonder what he wants...
"Naruto, Suki." He said while walking along side of the two, hands in his pocket. "What are you up to?"
Naruto looked over at Sasuke with confusion, wondering why he was curious of their whereabouts or why he even decided to tag along.
"Getting ramen of course!" Naruto stated, his stomach growling of hunger.
"Good. I'm pretty hungry too." the raven haired boy replied, continuing to join the two.
The three genins took an awkwardly quiet stroll to the ramen shop. Too awkward. Too quiet. Along the way, Sakura was found hiding behind a post. To make it a hey-i'm-not-stalking-sasuke act, she bumped into Suki.
"Suki!" Sakura smiled.
"Hey, Sakura! Funny bumping into you! We found Sasuke along the way too."
The team was together outside of training for once, was it bonding? or a coincidence? They all made it to Ichiraku's. Suki sat at the far left corner where usually Naruto and her sit until-
"OI! SASUKE!" Naruto yelled, pretty irritated about what he just did.
Sasuke took his seat next to Suki, completely ignoring the sorta pissed off Naruto. And obviously Sakura followed Sasuke, leaving Naruto far from Suki.
Naruto kept a glare at Sasuke.
Waiting for the ramen, everyone was silent. Suki felt a bit uncomfortable being right next to her clan's old frenemy. Sasuke, well no one could tell how he feels with that blank serious face he always has on. Sakura was just admiring Sasuke, looking over at him with a side eye from time to time. And Naruto was just there, keeping an eye on Sasuke, trying to figure out what he's doing here... especially next to his bestfriend.
"Suki" a soft voice whispered into the girl's ear.
"Huh?" Suki turned over to Sasuke. "Sasuke?"
"Why do you hangout with the idiot?"
Overhearing the small chitchat, Naruto started yelling at Sasuke, stating "I'm no baka, dattebayo! You'll see!" "SASUKE!" "I'll be the Hokage, not the idiot!" "I'm Uzumaki Naruto!" "You're the idiot!" Sasuke, like always, kept his cool and just stood silent, making Naruto more furious than a few seconds ago. This caused quite a commotion in the small shop, irritating Sakura's patience. Sakura ended up trying to hold off Naruto from laying a hand on her "future husband" as she yelled at him to stop being so loud and stupid.
"NAAAARUUUUTOOOO! BAKA BAKA BAKA! SASUKE-KUN IS BETTER THAN YOU AND LISTEN TO YOUR SUPERIORS!" the pink headed chick stated while punching his head.
Suki took a deep breath, "Naruto be quiet. Sasuke be kind and," she sighed, "That idiot is my BESTFRIEND. He's kind, funny... a pure baka... sweet... and he makes me happy." Suki replied as she looked over Naruto with a soft smile, "you wouldn't know what love is..." she muttered under her breath.
Sasuke heard her and he left, not saying a word at all.
"Huh?" Everyone was surprised and curious on why Sasuke had to do that.
Was it the scene Naruto caused? Was it the ramen? or... did he hear me?
Naruto felt relieved at the moment, happy to know that Sasuke won't be joining them. Sakura wanted to chase after Sasuke but she was still shy and couldn't figure out the words to say to him. They weren't very close but Sakura cares for him deeply, loving him from afar. Suki on the other hand decided to go after and follow him.
"Sasuke!" Suki yelled, running to the raven haired boy. "Why'd you leave?"
Silence.
"What's wrong?"
Silence.
Suki grabbed Sasuke's arm and held it firmly, yanking it a little to grab his attention.
"Don't you dare ignore me! Especially when I came after to you to ask if you were okay!" Suki looked at Sasuke in the eyes.
His eyes... they look so lonely. and cold.
Sasuke took her hand off him and continued to walk forward, keeping a straight face on. "Don't come after me again."
The boy started fading away, getting farther and farther away from Suki. The brunette just stood there, hurt over his words, hurt over his loneliness. "I'm sorry... Uchiha Sasuke." she whispered to herself, walking back to the ramen shop.
Sakura already left as Naruto waited for Suki. He was there holding her ramen in a to go bowl, smiling. Suki was walking towards him, feeling guilt and sadness, no facial expression as she grabbed the bowl. "Arigatou, Naruto-kun." She started heading to the direction of her house. Naruto wondered what happened, following her. "Don't forget me!" He yelled, trying to crack a joke to cheer her up. Suki just walked. Scratching the back of his head, Naruto sighed. "Suki-chan... What happened?"
"Nothing." she mumbled.
"No, not nothing!"
Suki just continued to ignore him, mumbling "nothing" along the way.
Naruto shook his head and held out his arms, wrapping them around Suki's body from behind. "I know you don't like showing your emotions or telling people things but I'll always be here for you." the blonde whispered into her ear. Tears started to fall as she felt the warmth of his voice and body, smiling. "You're my bestfriend Naruto-kun. I'm happy with you."
