The titles have nothing to do with the story. They're just references to some of the shit me and the bae say to each other.
Also hello. Welcome to the fic. It's my wifie (aka your mother)'s birthday (August seventh but i don't know if I'll be online that day so it's probably early)
Anyway she gave me this idea over a year ago and I really liked it but I had other fics going. It has been a pretty clean year since then. I wrote Past Lives, Lost Souls, Young Like Us, symphony For the lost, the darkness beneath and then Mein Vögelchen (which is a personal favourite) this was on the list to go after MV but you guys voted it out on the first round *gasp*. Then, since The Long Way Home and Part Of Us had almost equal votes I had to do both of them.
Oh and I also wrote Unlikely Love as her last birthday gift.
And haha you're old, loser.
Happy birthday. <3 (I get to give you 19 spanks for 19 years right???)"Gilbert? Gilbert can you hear me?"
"Somebody call an ambulance."
"Get him on a gurney, quickly."
"His heart!!!"
"He's stable again."
"He should be up in a few hours. You can wait next to him."
"Bruder, what the hell did you get yourself into?"
The words that Gilbert remembered from it were blurry and scattered around. Sometimes when he thought back they were in one order, sometimes there was new phrases and sometimes phrases faded out.
But what happened then didn't matter. The only things that people cared about was the before and after.
"Why were you doing heroin? You could have died." It was lectures that came after, for example. Ludwig had never been more angry.
"I don't remember." He did remember. It was because he was trying to look cool. It was because they were at that kind of party. But it was easier to pretend he had amnesia than to tell his little brother this.
"Vatti is going to be pissed."
"It's not like he isn't pissed at me for everything anyway." Gilbert rolled his eyes but it hurt.
"The doctors said you have a severe concussion and that you have to stay here until they're sure there won't be lasting effects."
"The food here better be good." Gilbert sighed.
"You shot chemicals into your arm. You have no right to complain about hospital food."
"Alright. Fine. I was kidding."
Ludwig only groaned.
"So...where's the rest of the band?"
"Roderich wasn't even at the party, Elizaveta was the one to drive him home, and Vash...probably at home reading a book or something."
"Ugh. We're a rock band. Rock Stars don't go to bed before nine."
"Those ones do. And it's about time you start taking tips from them."
"Boring."
"Gilbert, you've been scaring the shit out of us since you were a kid. It's time to stop being reckless and act like an adult." Ludwig stood from the chair he had been sitting in. "I'm going to head home now. I'm glad your safe."
"Ja. I'll see you later!"
"I sure hope so."
