Diamond, to Drane and Sage: you guys wanna play chase the ace
Sapphire, listening in horror: do not chase this ace!
"You can do it Mario!" Matthew cheered, watching Gilbert move the pixelated character around on the screen. He jumped onto a platform but Gilbert overshot and landed right in front of a goomba.
"Shit."
"How long have you been on that level?" The Canadian asked, voice coated in maple syrup and genuine interest. He was halfway out of the wall behind Gil, looking at the game over his shoulder.
"Five years."
"Holy shit."
"Ja."
"Can I try something?"
"Sure, what?"
Matthew snickered and shot into the device. It had been warm before, but now it was ice cold.
"Start the level." Matthew's voice said through the speakers of the machine.
"Holy shit."
"Do it."
"Okay, okay."
Gilbert pressed A and the level began anew, but Mario looked a little different.
"Are you Mario?"
"Yeah."
"What the hell?!"
"Just play!"
Gilbert sighed and started to move Mathio around. He moved through enemies and platforms with ease and even floated over gaps until they got to the end.
"Wow! Danke!"
"I shouldn't do it too much. Lovino will-"
"MATTHEW ARE YOU SCREWING WITH TECHNOLOGY AGAIN?"
"Fuck you old man!" Matthew shouted, hopping out of the gameboy.
"I'm really busy and you KNOW how that messes me up."
"We both know you're just flirting with nurses you sly fox."
"And it's annoying as hell to have to walk away from a pretty girl because you're playing games."
"I just want people to know I'm here."
"A hospital is not the place to do that."
"Wait..." Gilbert blinked, puzzled again. "I thought people couldn't see you."
"They can if I want them too."
"He has a human form." Matthew explained much more clearly, "which he uses I flirt with nurses."
"Girls don't mess with technology and force me to tend to them all the time."
"What the fuck ever." Matthew sassed.
Gilbert only chuckled at the pair, humoured by their ridiculous banter.
"What are you so cheerful about, Gil?" Another voice entered the conversation, this one heavily accented and smooth.
"Franny?! Shit, man, I haven't seen you in ages!" Gilbert greeted. "Get the fuck in here!"
"I brought Antonio!" Francis pulled the Spaniard into the room, the two of them smiling like the sun on the teletubbies.
"I thought you two moved back to Europe." Gilbert welcomed.
"Holy shit that is the nicest ass I have ever seen." Lovino whistled softly.
"Impressive." Matthew agreed.
"Fuck you, Matt! That's my ass for the taking!"
"Why can't I have it?!"
"Because you're dead, fuckwad."
"Oh yeah."
"We did move back to Europe but we heard you had an accident from Ludwig so we came as soon as we could."
"Ludwig is hiding it, then?"
"Hiding what?"
"That I ODed on heroin."
"You did what now?" Francis was shook. Antonio looked shook as well, but he had the kind of face that always looked happy or tired for some reason.
"It was a party that got way out of hand. What are you two doing with your lives?"
"I'm a dance instructor for a small studio." Antonio bragged.
"Yep. That's a dance ass. I can smell one from a mile away." Lovino nodded.
"Don't smell asses." Matthew stuck his tongue out.
"Fuck you, Matt."
"And what about you, Francis?"
"Remember Arthur from English class?"
"That really crabby British guy who always carried tea in a thermos?"
"Oui. Him."
"Yeah. What about him?"
"We're engaged now. I met up with him while I was travelling in Britain and we hit it off again."
"Children usually take after the ugly one. Be careful."
"Arthur is NOT ugly. He is very beautiful."
"His eyebrows could have been pieced into a toupee for our principal." Antonio debated.
"Non! Don't touch his eyebrows! Only I can do that!"
"Why?"
"Honhonhon~ ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)."
"Oh my god Francis."
"What's happening?" Antonio asked.
"Never mind, kiddo."Originally I said that Arthur was in the band but then I forgot and put him into a different role so the band is now Prussia, Austria, Hungary, and Switzerland. I already went back and fixed it.
