Flowers... What was it about flowers that could charm just about anyone into falling in love with them? There was definitely something about flowers. Something quite possibly magical, that could entice a person to become compelled to forget all prior emotions and fall into a trance. It could not be just me; or maybe it was. At least, that's the present dilemma I am currently struggling with.

..._..._...

Flowers are pretentious in nature. A luxury to someone like me. After losing both my parents in a multivehicle accident when I was nine years old, I was taken in by my childhood friend's grandmother.

It was just the three of use for a while. Me, Grandma Su, and Namtan. That is until Grandma Su became diagnosed with diabetes. Although it wasn't severe, she needed to mind her health and due to the late discovery, Grandma Su was already showing signs of gradual vision loss.

We needed extra cash for her medication and through a neighbor's recommendation, I decided to work at his nephew's florist shop in Bangkok. The business was great; the shop decent in size was situated right in front of one of the top Universities in Bangkok and they need a few extra pair of hands.

Namtan and Grandma Su wanted me to finish school first and tried to convince me out of it. But after all they had done for me, this was the least that I could do. In a sense, I needed to do this. It was within my powers and the only thing I could do to protect my family while I still had the chance. Besides, flowers would be nice distraction for me. At the age of 15 I left for Bangkok.

---one year later---

[Kongpob]

[Location: Chulalongkorn University. (Valentine's Day.)]

There was absolutely nothing wrong with today. The sun was shining, the birds were singing, and today was going to be just like any other day. Or should I say, like any other Valentine's Day in Kongpob's life.

18-year-old Kongpob was a Freshmen at the prestigious Chulalongkorn University. He stood tall at 187 cm with an athletic build and handsome face. That was not all there was to Kongpob Suthiluck. Born as the sole male heir to Industry Enterprise & Co., Kongpob's existence drew attention and admiration from all sides. He didn't mind it. However, he also did not embrace it. Today was going to be just like any other day. Any other day; multiplied by a hundred. Shit.

"Kong!" His friend Oak ran over half waving, half rummaging through his bag as the rest of the crew followed behind him. His close friends consisted of Em, Wad, Tew, and Oak.

"Hey man." Kongpob greeted his friends and slowly turned towards the university entrance.

"It's in here somewhere, I swear I thought I – ah-ha!" Oak pulled out a roll of garbage bags and punched the sky in a triumphant manner.

"Oak, what the hell are those for?" Em just shook his head.

"Uh, hello? Have you forgotten what day it is today?" Oak exclaimed unable to conceal his immense glee.

"February 14th?"

"Yes! Today is the day of freebies! Kongpob's freebies!" Oak cackled.

The rest of the group knew what he was talking about but decided not to associate themselves with the mindless lunatic and hurriedly followed after Kongpob.
