To my dear child,
It has been us and only us for a while now. We've gone through the pain of having someone important to us leave. We've gone through the struggle of only having each other. But, we do have each other. We will never be alone because there are two of us. We will go through pain and challenges together. It's us against the world.
Every time someone walks out on you, you will feel lonely. You will feel empty and alone. But, remember that you never have been, you never will be and you are never alone.
People will leave go and it may seem like the world is dead or empty but it is times like that in which you will truly feel how much there is left in the world. You will realize the people who are the ones that will never leave and you will realize how many other people in the world that can come into your life.
Sometimes, you may feel like that isn't enough. You may feel like you long for more. So, you will search. You will pry through crowds. You will take leaps. You will force yourself in between. But, remember that you will always have me, whether or not with one more person.
You'll always have us.
