"Foundations"
People say that your family is their to support you. They say that friends are supposed to pick you up when you fall, and that teachers lead you through life. People say that you aren't alone in the choices you make. But, to me, that isn't true. You see I believe that that's just something people say to make you feel better, which I don't mind. It isn't necessarily lying. You see, you can tell your sister that you'll always be there for her. You can teach your student how to solve problems. You can say soothing words to make your friend stop stopping, and what you say may be true. But, in the end, it isn't the choice of the teacher, the good friend or the sibling who reminds you of his/her support; it is the choice of the recipient. You choose to learn. You choose whether or not to tell your sibling of what happened. You choose whether to grab your friend's hand and get up. In the end, you are alone in the choices you make. There are people in this world who prep you for those choices. But, in that span of time that you make your choice, you're on your own; you're alone against the world with only the knowledge of what you should do and that you won't be alone forever.
Since the beginning and until the end, only your two feet hold yourself up. The foundation of everything you do or say, the foundation of every choice you make is you.
