"So what'd they call you up for?" Pete yawned, strangely still feeling a bit tired despite the fact that he was asleep for a while.

"To tell me they were gonna to be gone for a bit." Gabe shrugged, "Apparently the other two, Joe and Andy, ran into some vampire trouble and needed some back up"

"So they just left?" The vampire questioned, feeling slightly uncomfortable even though he was chained down and unable to do much to hurt the only other person in the room.

Hurt.

The only other person in the room.

Unable.

The words sounded louder in his head.

Almost as if they were important.

Though his thoughtfulness didn't last long when he heard the younger say, "It's fine though, we won't cause too much trouble. It's not like we're going to set the whole place on fire or anything"

With a smile on his face.

Which, in return was enough to get the eldest of the two to do the same.

"Let me guess, they made you promise not to set the place on fire" he laughed and Gabe sighed, "Yeah, and not touch any of the weapons or anything like that"

"Smart guys" Pete admitted and Gabe looked almost insulted,"Shut up, I'm the most responsible person I know"

"Are you sure about that?" Pete asked, raising a questioning eyebrow.

"Positive," The human challenged, eyes slightly squinted, before shrugging and saying, "well, I'm starved. Raiding their fridge probably won't start a fire" only moments later.

"Knowing you-" Pete started only to get flipped off and told to fuck off by the other, "Vete a la mierda"

Pete laughed at that.

And the younger, despite the fact that he seemed mad, wasn't at all.

It was just the way their friendship worked.

So he still asked, "Want anything?"

"Depends on what they have." Pete admitted and Gabe nodded, "I'll come back"

"Really?" The vampire asked, questioningly, since the basement isn't the best place to hang out or eat.

"Of course, someone has to keep you company" Gabe exclaimed, simply, with a shrug.

"See, this is why you're my best friend." The older male smiled, "You're willing to sit on the dirty concrete floor of a basement just to keep me company"

The younger smiled at that, obviously knowing as much, though he decided to have some fun with it, "I mean if I don't, who will?"

"Hilarious" the elder of the two mocked, incredibly sarcastic though the younger seemed pretty serious with his answer, "Plus, I kinda like it here"

"You what?" Pete questioned, feeling very confused, how could anyone possibly like it here?

"It's warmer" Gabe shrugged and Pete questioned his friend's weird antics, "In the basement?" He asked

Gabe, however, didn't respond to that.

He just smiled and then was gone.
