They parted. Emma went to the back of the warehouse while Aisling stood still, a metre from the door.
Aisling heard the twigs being stepped countlessly. She hoped their plan would work, and that Emma will be alright.
Later, as expected, Vivy went out. Aisling quickly slide through the door before the door shut close itself completely. She hid behind a pile of hanging thick rotten meats. She blocked her nose, trying her best to not breathe in the horrid smell too much.
She creeped closer by passing each of the piles. Dominik sensed the movement. He knew.
Damin was busy talking to himself, circling around Dominik.
Dominik tried to not look at Aisling as much. He needed to look oblivious or else, Damin will notice her presence.
Aisling felt like her heart was jumping out of her body. She felt butterflies in her stomach. Adrenaline pumped through her blood.
Dominik tried to hide his panic. He knew she was different from other girls at their college, but he didn't expect her to be this level of daring.
All he could do at the moment was playing pretend with Damin.
It felt like the clock has slowed its ticking. Aisling mentally cheered herself once she was behind Damin.
I can do this!
With that, she swung the branch to his head as hard as she can, which was very hard. She used her wrath and energy all in one.
She gasped and dropped the branch once Damin's body fell.
Dominik let out a breath he didn't know he was holding.
Aisling with wide eyes and shaky hands rushed to his side. She took Damin's knife and cut off the rope.
Dominik was free at last. He turned around and collected Aisling in his arms. Aisling hugged him tightly, resting her head on his shoulder.
"Oh, how scared I am to lose you."
