My dress fitting took very little time. Lucy seemed to have a great image in her head of what the dresses should look like, so I decided to leave it to her. I had too many other things to do instead.
I sat back in the library, writing out the remainder of the invitations. It felt strange writing out names of other people who were Royalty. The word itself still didn't settle well with me. What did it mean to be Royal? Royal to me reminds me of the popular girls from highschool. Everyone knew them, but they were untouchable, had alot of friends, and tons of money. Reality was, yes everyone here knew me, but I was touchable. And endless invasions on my castle were evidence enough. Clearly some people were not impressed with our leadership. Which I guess could be another correlation between Royalty and my highschool. But here I do not have many friends. Rebekah, Accalia, Ariana, Camilla and Scarlett were all taken away from me, I haven't seen Adam since I told him the truth, and everyone else is too busy calling me Princess to even ask how my day has been.
Needless to say my body feels confused. I'm starting to adapt, but I have only been here for a few weeks. But leaving, the thought of not seeing Lucy, Marlee or Adam again is also haunting. I've been so strong without my friends, without guidance from the three fairies or even Maleficient. Papa would be proud. I think of him every day. He's the only reason I'm not gone insane here.
My thoughts were interrupted to a knock on my door.
"Come in" I said, keeping my eyes focused as I glided the quill across the tough paper.
"Belle"
It was his voice.
I dropped the quill and turned my head, Adam was stood in the doorway. Clean, just out of the shower.
"Adam!" I yelled, pushing out of the chair and running into his arms.
He lifted me off the ground and spun me in a circle.
"I'm so glad to see you, I missed you so much." I smiled up at him, his hands not leaving my waist.
"I've missed you too, " his eyes move from my eyes to the wrap on my head " how are you feeling?"
" As good as I could be, it does hurt a lot. Being out of the aggressive sunlight helps."
"I'm just glad you're safe. Please, never again run into a battle like that."
" I swear, I learned my lesson."
He let out a soft chuckle, " good, we now have to do quick repairs to the stairwell because of you now"
"Oh your majesty, how could I ever repay you for such a crime I so regrettably committed?" I joked
" I think a kiss would do it for me"
Kiss.
I've never kissed anyone before.
"Look, Belle. I am sorry for the way I acted today, after you told me the truth. I believe you. But you're still Princess Belle, the woman who freed me of my curse, returned me to human form. And I know you may not remember that now but you will one day and it's killing me inside that I don't know what happened to you and your friends... but I love you. I have ever since we met, ever since you returned, and right in this moment. "
"Adam... I love you too, but you know I'll have to return to my dimension. I have a life there and duties."
"But you have a life and duties here too!"
" I know, but... it's different for me. My dimension is what I know. I don't know Royalty, or how to rule a country. I can barely rule my own life! I'm only eighteen, still in high school, single, trying to find my way in life."
