Papi grabs me by the back of my shirt and hauls me in the house next to him. I try to reason with him, to tell him it doesn't really hurt and that I had to help, all I get in return is a deadly glare that I know means I am in serious deep shit, not just him but also with the rest of my fathers.
“Don't try and get out of this, Fitz. I know that you wanted to help, but you promised us you wouldn't get involved, and we have to come out and see you being pummeled by one of the enemies. Don't try and act innocent.” Finn warns as he walks by us, I knew he was secretly seething, that doesn't mean I didn't hope that maybe he would be on my side in this whole fiasco.
“I'm not trying to get out of it, I already know everyone is pissed and mad at me.” Finn’s expression softens as he looks at me but he only give me a sad smile.
“I'm not going to say you're wrong, because I know everyone is pissed, but more at the fact that you let yourself into danger without a thought on how it is going to affect everyone around you who cares about you. You have been acting very carelessly lately.” I feel my blood boil at his words, but decide to ignore it and follow everyone into the kitchen where Daddy and Dad are waiting for us.
They seem to realize the mood as soon as we walk in and Daddy's face crumbles down in pain and sadness as he leans more in Dad’s side. Dad is the one to realize that Papa and Papi’s mood are more angry then they should be.
“We will find her eventually, don't be so angry with yourselves, we are doing all that we can.” Papa seems to accept that fact that they think they are mad at themselves, but Papi with the temper he has, I'm not surprised that he throws me under the bus.
“We aren't mad at ourselves, we knew she might not be there. We are mad at your son who decided to throw himself in front of a man twice his size after he promised to stay in the van.” Papa rolls his eyes when Papi says your son and punches Papi in the shoulder, quite hard from the wince Papi makes.
“You don't understand! You wouldn't let me finish explaining why i did it.” I groan in frustration as I hold my head, it still aches a little after being bashed into the ground a few times.
“I understand that you left the van and almost died because you were trying to be a hero.” Papi snarls. I furrow my eyebrows as I look at him before shaking me head and looking away.
“I wasn't trying to be a hero, he deserved what he got.” Papi scoffs as he crosses his arms over his chest as he squares his body to mine.
“Did you deserve what he did to you? Because out of the two of you he seemed to fare better than you.”
“I didn't say that he doesn't deserve more.” I argue back as I cross my own arms over my chest, ignoring the tinge in my chest when my arms press against my ribs painfully.
“Blaze.” Daddy warns as he steps forward. His baby bump seems to be bigger since we left, but I know it is just my imagination, we had only been gone for a few hours. “Fitz, is there a reason that you keep saying he deserved it? Or do you just think everyone involved should be punished?” Daddy asks as he places one of his hands on my arm.
“He was there, when they took Laney. He was the one to pull her from the car, he was the one who beat me. He was the one who laughed as I begged him not to take her from me. He was the one, the one who took her from us. He deserves death for what he did to all of us.” With those last words I turn away from my family and run out of the room and the pack house.
