The boy was a head taller than me, his hair was black, or rather the deepest shade of brown as a golden hue reflects by the sun. His eyes were a hazel color, and his eyebrows almost knotted together as his facial expression looked confused and concerned at the same time. He was an awful handsome individual and as my eyes met his, I blushed. I nodded as he surveyed my head for any drastic injuries. The way he was still holding me made my stomach curl even more and I could not express whether the feeling was welcomed or not.
"Are you sure? It truly felt like you hit your head pretty bad" He inquired again and I gazed up at him, to see his chin forming a slight bruise. I felt ashamed and I could not help but feel sorry for him.
"My apologies. I'm truly alright, however as the evidence of my impact is forming across your chin I wonder the same" I announced low, a non-intended giggle escaped. He rubbed his chin and took to a rosy color.
"It's alright yeah"
I could feel him staring at me, but my eyes were too concentrated on his chin, and I took a step away from his hands. He cleared his throat as his hands fell to the side.
"I'm Gilbert" He then notified me, and all the memories fell back into place. I took a step to the side and glanced behind him. An axe and some chopped wood laid behind us. I eventually realized why I was in this forest in the first place. My view then abruptly got obstructed by Gilbert's questioned face and the social norm of introducing and explaining oneself came to mind.
"Oh Excuse me. Your father sent me, to tell you that you're soon traveling" I explained as briefly as possible, straightening my back. His already knitted eyebrows joined over his eyes as he glanced to the side.
"You know my father?" He inquired stunned.
"No," I told him as my hands swooped to the back of my neck, yanking the rest of my hair loose from the braid.
"Then how do you...?"
"I passed by. He looked in need and I took the time to help" I informed him, and Gilbert raised his eyebrows, amazed as if no one in the world would ever show compassion. It made me wonder about the small community I had been tossed into. Why is an act of kindness rare?
"That is really kind of you" He twinkled a smile. "I didn't catch your name, Miss?" He said wondering. I parted my lips to tell until a yelling voice called from the road.
"Aurora!" Mr. Harrison shouted a second time. I must have been gone for some time and my travels were yet to be finished, so I decided to leave the dazzling boy in a haze. Perhaps if I got to stay at Green Gables, I would see him again.
"I have to go," I told him rapidly and hurried towards the call of my name.
"Bye aurora!" I unexpectedly caught Gilbert's voice and turned to face him with a wave. "Watch out for running girls Gilbert!"

"I spy with my little eye, something golden" My phrases scrambled out of my mouth as I scanned Mr. Harrison for any competition in the game. He seemed sure of his answer which is what I dreaded.
As the halt at Blythe's residence came to an end, Mr. Harrison and I returned to our travels. It was not far and I was feeling slightly restless after two days with travel, train, and carriage.
"Well, this is a hard one" Mr. Harrison stated and bumped into my side playfully again. I glared up at him in surprise as I did not catch his irony at first, but he pointed right at the answer. I turned around to the golden fields and then circled back at him, his wrinkled face grinned wide.
" I would've given you a challenge, but we have not seen anything else than golden fields and forests for miles" I clarified to him, and his chuckle turned to laughter.
