Dad walked over to me and wished me luck.

"Next year, baby. I promise." I smiled and steered Midnight to the opposite end of the rodeo where the other barrel racers were.

Girls of all kind were here. Out of all of them I was the shortest. I jumped off my horse and heard a bunch of laughs when my horse walked away from me when I dropped my reins. I walked towards them and my horse followed me.

"Does your horse do that?" I questioned when my horse came to a complete stop behind me. Midnight's neck rested on my shoulder.

"Of course it doesn't. I rented this horse yesterday." She smirked when a girl walked up.

Her horse was pure white and the saddle has decked in sparkles. She was wearing bright pink and looked mad.

"Who the hell is she and what is she doing at my rodeo? You better not be here to steal the King boys from me." She yelled at me. Her tan face morphing into pure rage.

I laughed and she looked confused. "You...Think...I...Want...To date...My own...Brothers." I said between laughs.

When I finally calmed down I held out my hand, "My name is Blair. Blair King."

She looked at me before grabbing my hand. "Gracie Thomas."

We talked for a few minutes before I realized she was perfect for Avery. I told her to meet with me after the races and I would introduced her to him. We waited for things to start and said are goodbyes for now and got on our horses. We warmed up for a bit.

I watched when they called Gracie out. She was 14.03 seconds and so far in the lead. I was called and I started my run from the back and pushed Midnight into a trot getting faster and faster I raced around the barrels, not missing a single one. I raced back out and gradually slowed down.

"That was...Blair King everybody with the county high of 13.50 seconds." I got off midnight and walked her over to her trailer and took her saddle off. I switched her bridles to a more comfier one and heard Gracie walk up in a different outfit.

She had on a plaid shirt with rolled up sleeves and shorts. Gracie took her braid out of her hair and put on a classic white hat.

I told her to wait so I could change, too. My outfit was a simple cream tank top and jean jacket with no sleeves and shorts paired with my black hat and boots.

I walked out as I was taking my hair down and saw Gracie petting my horse. After I tied my horse to the trailer, we walked over and sat in the stands to watch the bull riding.
