K.O woke up and rubbed his eyes, letting out a yawn as he looked around the room. The second dream he had was much better than the first one, though strange. It was about a girl named Luna and another girl confessing their love for each other, and hanging out at the mall and the other girl's house.
He had no idea where the dream came from, nor did he really care. Any dream would be better than the previous dream he had.
His thoughts were interrupted when his mom opened up his door and stood on the other end with a smile. "Hey, K.O," she said, picking him up. "I told the school about your current situation, so they said that you should stay out until you get better."
His eyes went wide with surprise. "But what about at Gar's? I don't wanna miss hanging out with Enid and Rad," he said sadly. "Even if I can't actually hang out with them I still want to be able to be around them."
Carol chuckled. "Of course, K.O," she declared. "Just be careful, okay?"
"Okay, mom," he replied in a monotone voice. He knew that he wasn't going to hang out with Enid and Rad and that being around them wouldn't help him feel better. He just wanted to be away from here, he didn't know why, but it made him have a very uncomfortable feeling.
Carol carried him to the car, buckled him up, and then she got in and drove off. While driving to Lakewood Plaza, he started to think about the dream he had again. He hated to admit it, but him falling in the dream actually felt nice. He liked the way the wind felt and how the world around him slowed down, even the way the shouts sounded made him feel happy that people were even the tiniest bit worried about him.
He had another thought slip into his mind, but he shook it out of his head. No, he couldn't do that, he could never ---
His thoughts were interrupted when the car stopped and his mom spoke. "We're here, K.O," she said as she unbuckled herself. He sighed and looked to the side as his mom got out of the car and carried him into Gar's once again.
"Hey, Carol," Enid said. "Bringing K.O again I see?"
"Yeah, he said he just wanted to be around you guys," Carol responded. "I just thought he'd be in a better mood around you guys."
Enid nodded as Carol walked out, and she sighed. "Okay, K.O," she says. "You can't sit around here all day, where do you want to be?"
Though, to her surprise, he didn't answer. Instead, he pointed to the corner of the store that was farther away from everyone. "Um, are you sure you want to be over there?" She asked. K.O just nodded in response, and Enid shrugged it off and carried him to the corner.
She sat him down and stood there for a moment, looking around. "Look, if you need anything, just let me or Rad know," she said. "And trust me when I say Rad is willing to help you."
Once again, he didn't respond, which caused Enid to sigh in annoyance. "Right, well, I'll be back at the front," she said as she walked away.
K.O just sat there, thinking about many different things. He knew that everyone was trying to help him, but he didn't understand why. He was a worthless and weak child, and he didn't understand why they cared about him.
He knew that they were faking it, why else would they be worried about him? They were pretending to care only to make him feel better.
If his mom wasn't his mom, she would show just how much she hated and got annoyed with him. If Enid and Rad weren't his so-called friends, they would more than likely do what the bullies did to him a few day ago.
He then remembered the bullies. Thanks to them, he knows the truth about how everyone feels about him, and he now knows just how worthless he is. He really wishes he could thank the bullies and let them finish him off, but that wasn't an option anymore.
He sighed and stared at the ground, hoping this day would end as soon as it started.
(A/N) I know, I know! I said I'd give the fourth wall a break but I couldn't help myself, breaking the fourth wall is a fun thing to do! Don't worry though, that has nothing at all to do with the plot, just thought I'd throw it in there for the laughs xD
Honestly, I love writing this story. There's just something about Darkfics that really stand out to me for whatever reason
Also I love you guys' reactions to some things, seriously, you guys are the best! xP
Anyway, that's all I have to say for now, and I'll see you in the next chapter! ^.^
