Alex's POV

Who was that girl? Is she from here? Is she actually from France? She doesn't have an accent. It actually sounds Eastern US, maybe Massachusetts or New Jersey. She was beautiful. She looked like she played a sport because of how fit she was, and her legs were very toned. Did she also play soccer? She smelled nice.

"Nice eyes, too."

"What was that, Alex?" Sydney asked me. Did I say that out loud?

"What?"

"You said something about eyes?"

"Um, no, I said 'need ice, too.' Since, you know, my head," I responded, gesturing to the bump from earlier. "Just thinking out loud."

She gave me a look, then went back to telling her story of some guy she saw at the airport. The tables are set up so that forwards are with forwards, defenders are with defenders, and midfielders are with, you guessed it, GOALIES! Wait, no, they're with more midfielders. Tony likes to think of it as building chemistry with our teammates, and in a few days we'll change it up so that everyone can have good chemistry.

I tried to listen to Sydney talk to Mautz, Washington, and Michelle. Because we have 2 Alyssa's and 2 Nikki's, we refer to them by their last names.

I didn't really care about Sydney's story, however. I was looking at her like I knew what she was talking about, but really I was just thinking about that girl I saw. She looked familiar. I don't know where from, but I know I've seen her face before. Somewhere.

Just then I hear the doors shut. I look and see the girl from before. She's running towards Tony and two other girls. Staff maybe? No, I've never seen them around us before. The shorter, blonde one started talking to the girl, and the tall brunette joined in. The girl pushed them and all three started talking to Tony.

"Holy shit, is that The New Kids™?" Mautz asked.

"What, where?" Michelle started looking around and when she found them, her eyes widened.

"Oh crap, it is!"

"The New Kids™?" Asked Washington. She was just as clueless as I was.

Sydney filled us in. "The New Kids™ are 3 players from the senior team; Amy Rodriguez, or A-Rod, Lauren Cheney, and Tobin Heath. They've been playing together for a while now and they're best friends. What are they doing here though?"

"Do you think they're here to play with us?" Washington asked excitedly.

Mautz quickly shut her down. "No, nimrod. They're too old."

Washington pouted. Then Michelle said "Actually, they all could play. Amy turned 20 on February 17th, Tobin on May 29th, and Lauren on September 30th."

"And you know that just off the top of your head?" I asked. I was looking at the girls, slowly realizing that I've seen them play. I recognize Lauren, I played against her during college. That means that the girl is either Amy Rodriguez, or Tobin Heath. She did not look like an Amy, like at all. Which means that Amy is the blonde one? I think so. She looks like an Amy. Does she?

"Who's who?" Washington was still completely out of the know. Thank god though, I would have never asked myself.

Sydney rolled her eyes before answering. "Lauren is the one with brown, curly hair. She's like a mother. Amy is the shorter, blonde one. Apparently she's really funny and does good accents. And Tobin's the last one. She's super chill off the field, but she's a magician on the ball." Sydney looked one last time at them before attacking her BLT.

Tobin, huh? The name suits her well. And a magician? I mean I've seen some footage of a U-20 team playing against another team, and there were some skillful players, but was she really one of them? She would look good in a SnapBack. Really good in one.
