A/N: Hello, everyone!! Sorry that I haven't uploaded anything in a while but inspiration and motivation to write does take time. And I've been battling sinus problems for the past 3 weeks, so there's that. But after dosing up on meds and getting plenty of sleep, one particular fan motivated me enough and gave me just the push I needed to get off my lazy butt and actually do something productive! So here's a shoutout to Bluereddino!! Thanks so much for being such a loyal and appreciative reader, hun!! <3

But for now, please enjoy this lengthy chapter as questions are answered and another problem arises *dun dun dun*

Mephiles held his pups close as the carriage came closer to the palace. The young lord soon closed the windows altogether so passersby couldn't look in. He was a lone demon among a sea of angels and it was just better, from his standpoint, that the less he's seen the better.

However, Silver's point of view differed from his mate's at this rather sudden change of plans. His eyes had widened at the vast sight of the ethereal Cherubic palace right before his mate closed the curtains of the carriage windows.

He was struck with the strangest feeling of deja vu, like he'd.....like he'd been there before.

It left a nagging feeling in the back of his mind, but he simply ignored it for now and focused on the carriage slowing down as they neared the castle entrance.

Mephiles couldn't help but feel on edge as the carriage came to a quiet stop. Just what did they need his mate for? It just...he didn't like it. Not one bit.

But the demon had no time to do anything, the door opening moments later to reveal six cherub guards and Haku standing outside the carriage doors, ready to escort everyone in.

Cautiously, Mephiles exited first, keeping his children and mate huddled around him should anything happen. Thankfully, the imposing guards simply cast them all curious glances but other than that, they just attentively escorted the small family with Haku taking the lead.

They were quickly taken to the main hall and left outside momentarily as Haku stepped through the doors to have a brief word with the inhabitants behind said doors. Once he returned with a kind smile, the double doors opened to reveal the palace throne room before the young couple and their pups were being invited in.

Haku of course led the way since he'd been the one to find them, and the closer they got to the winged cherub male that sat at the top of the dais on his golden throne, the more Silver grew nervous.

His anxiety spiked when the angel, the Cherub King, met his amber with amber eyes of his own, the monarch frowning at the lot of them though it was a frown of confusion, not disgust.

Once the small entourage stopped at the base of the dais, Haku immediately bowing with Mephiles and his family realizing that they should do the same. It was definitely not something that Meph was used to, but he did so nonetheless.

"Presenting Demon Lord Mephiles the Dark, in company with his mate, Silver and children." Haku stated once everyone straightened, respectfully presenting Mephiles as the head of their family. But also including Silver's name, which, wasn't traditional. His name was stated to drive attention. Away from the demon lord and onto Silver.

“Mephiles the Dark,” came the male’s deep, baritone voice as he mulled the name over in his head momentarily. Raising an elegant brow, he then asked, “And just why does the King of Demons feel the need to enter my lands unannounced?”

Silver’s eyes widened in stunned shock. King of Demons? Mephiles was the King!? Glancing at his mate, Mephiles gave his beloved uke an apologetic smile when he felt him gently poking at his mind through their mental bond. He decided a brief explanation now would be best instead of waiting til later to talk in private. With his poor mate still recovering from the mental strain he’s been put through lately, leaving his mind free to doubts for any amount of time was NOT a good idea.
