I awake to the sunlight brightly illuminating my room. Yawning I pull my maroon blue comforter off my body and hop up. A heavy object hits the ground. "Hissss." It makes a screeching low sound. 'Iggy.' I scramble over to my pet cat Iggy to make sure she's okay.

"I'm sorry." I apologize knowing the cat won't reply. Petting her dark black coat I hear my mother yell up the stairs.

"Sophie, if you don't hurry you'll be late!" Edaline my mom sounds exasperated. After all today is my first day of Foxfire Academy. I pop up and take a quick glance at my alarm clock.

"Seven?" I scream in horror. I'm the new kid, the new kid cannot be late! Being late extracts unessecary attention. This will cause my life to be ruined by the butterfly effect.

Okay. Okay. Today wasn't my first official day of school, I would just be taking a tour, but still, the act of being late is a bad first impression.

In addition I have a phobia of being the 'center of attention.' When I was in the first grade the teachers decided to put me in advanced classes. I was always more intelligent than other kids, knowing over eighteen languages and being able to read at age 1 and all. At grade 1 my intelligence riveled that of a college freshmen. This attracted much attention for me, and my picture was published in the front cover of xxx magazine.

Soon I was taking class at the college, the students demoralized my pursuit for knowledge. I was the freak who didn't belong there nor anywhere for that matter. Not at college or my house. I was an adopted, genius of a freak.

I rush down stairs losing my step a couple of times. "Ow." I mutter.

"Sophie hurry into the car, I'll be right behind you."

I nod in agreement.
