"Dwell on the beauty of life. Watch the stars, and see yourself running with them."

NAOMI SWUNG HER SWORD WHILE SKIPPING THROUGH THE CAMP. Today was a day to be celebrated—Unity Day. The day where the twelve space stations came together to form the Ark. They never talked about the thirteenth, it had seemed to be forgotten amongst the celebrations. Naomi had always looked forward to the pageant when she was younger. She even remembered being in it when she was younger, with Clarke and Wells. Wells recited that stupid speech while the others held flags around him. Naomi remembered he forgot his lines halfway through—she remembered how she stepped up to help him with his lines.
It was always a magical day, as children. But now at the idea of possible Grounder retaliation for Lincoln's torture, the camp was tenser. There had been a long hunt for the "escaped Grounder", but Octavia had gotten Lincoln far enough away. If Bellamy knew Naomi was a part of his escape—which was likely—he said nothing of it.
People smiled at her as they passed, even saying the occasional hello. They liked her, thought Naomi, even if they were a little bit afraid of her. She understood why. With the fear of a grounder attack and the idea of her being 'the girl who is converting to Grounder', they had reason to be wary. If only Serena could convince the other villages to make peace. Commander Lexa had only agreed to try it, but hadn't set down any regulations yet. And Naomi felt she hadn't done a very good job convincing Anya.
Noe found Bellamy in his tent, as usual. Both the Blake sibling's and Naomi's things were spread at different corners of the tent. It was comfortable. Bellamy had without a doubt taken the biggest tent, and with his intense protectiveness of Naomi and his sister, has insisted they bunked with him. Naomi didn't mind—she missed falling asleep between the three of them when she was younger, even though now there was only two. The Blake siblings were good cuddlers, after all.
He looked up at her from where he had been shifting through some of his belongings.
"Hey. It's Unity Day. You're missing Jaha's inspiring speech," Naomi mused.
Bellamy raised an eyebrow, moving to stand.
"Am I now?"
"Seriously. It's quite emotional." She knocked her shoulder against Bellamy's. "'The last Unity Day before we're on the ground'!" she mimicked the Chancellor. "You talked to him—right? He pardoned you of his crimes?"
He nodded, dropping his pack against the ground. "Yeah, apparently."
Naomi smiled at that. "That's good. You and O will be safe, at least. Did he talk about me?" She blinked up at Bellamy with her mismatched doe eyes.
"No." Bellamy shook his head. "He didn't mention you at all."
"Huh. Shumway will have told him by now." She wrapped her arms around herself and shrugged. "Always loved to throw me under the bus."
"Hey." He pressed a hand against her's, pulling Naomi into a warm hug. She pressed her cheek against his chest as he held her. His breath tickled her ear. "We'll figure it out, okay? You can even stay with the grounders if they come after you."
Naomi nodded. "They'll come after me," she confirmed. "I'm eighteen in about a week—and it wouldn't matter to them anyway."
"We won't be on the Ark. It doesn't have to be like that anymore."
