Alone

Nightmare

I walked up to Crimsons house, and tap my fluffy tail against it, making a louder noise than expected. "Coming!" Crimson yelled, as I heard several thumps, a crash, and a slam before the door opens, and an orangey Eevee stumbles out and knocks me over. "Crimson!" I scowl, as we both get up, and look straight into each other's eyes. "Sorry, unlike you my eyes still aren't the best in the dark."
A strange silence swept over us as we seemed to get lost in each other's eyes...
"Ahem" Ash said, snapping us both back to reality. "Sorry about that, again" she giggled, making me smile. She's a goofball, she's kinda crazy, but she's my friend. "Are we all ready?" Ash asked. "Yeah, I think I'm ready" Crimson giggled. "I've waited so long to do this with you, Nightmare, let's go"

As we stray outside the kingdom walls, I'm blinded by a strange and unfamiliar light. A sensation I have never felt started to spread across my pelt, one that filled me with warmth and joy. The sunlight was amazing. Much better than being stuck in darkness all day, that's for sure. You see, when the annoying war began, my grandfather used powerful magic that, as he said, "only his true successor could control". It created a barrier of darkness around the kingdom, to protect us and sustain us. He tried to stop the war but the kingdom of light wouldn't stop, leaving us where we are, although I've probably already explained this. "Alright! Let's go" Ash calls out, joyfully, jumping around. It seems I'm not the only one enjoying the sunshine.

After almost the entire day of walking, the short silence was broken once again. "Are we almost there yet?" Crimson asks, for the millionth time, making me laugh. "It's the same as last time Crimson, no." "Actually we are" Ash said, before his head began darting around, seeming slightly distracted. "Is something wrong, Ash?" I ask, puzzled by his strange behavior. "I think we're about to have a run in with the light kingdom" Ash says, frantically looking around for the source of what I can only assume was some kind of noise.

"Calm down Absol" someone called, and Queen Melody(of the light kingdom) walked out from behind the alter. "Don't hurt us, please!" Crimson shrieked. "I have no intentions to attack three children of darkness on sacred ground. That would be most unpleasant for everyone, especially my reputation" Queen Melody replied, walking past, with another Eevee behind her. She looked at me, and smiled, making me smile back, until a trailing Kirlia shot me the dirtiest look I'd ever seen.

"Remind me not to get on her bad side" I say smiling, getting an angry glare from crimson. "Don't worry, she won't cause us any trouble..." Crimson quietly growled. I was about to question her, but Ash said "This is it, the Evolution Temple. This is where your life begins"
