However, The Nanny Diaries is a work of fiction, and none of those families is portrayed in this book. Names and characters are the product of author's imagination. Any resemblance to actual events or persons, living or dead, is coincidental. Although some real New York City institutions- schools, stores, galleries, and the like- are mentioned, all are used fictitiously.
