10.11.14I went out to go buy some flowers for my sunshine. What kind of flower should I get her? What color would she like? Walking along the sidewalk as I drown in my sea of thoughts. The sky was tinted with a cobalt hue. My surroundings seemed so gloomy and dark, which didn't help me.
After debating on what to get, I decided to get her a simple bouquet. I specifically chose to add some yarrow for good health, peonies for healing, and some geranium for comfort. I wanted to keep it simple yet meaningful.
After a few more minutes of walking, I was greeted by a white, plain-looking building. I wish they would paint this building with a color that is a bit more appealing.
I went inside, not bothering about the strong smell that hit my nose. "Here for Lisa?" I was asked.
I don't understand why they keep on asking me when Lisa is the only person that I visit here in the hospital. "Oh.. Yeah" I replied while I scratch my nape."Those flowers look really pretty. I'm sure she would love it!" the receptionist exclaimed.
I gave her a small smile and nodded slightly, subtly telling them that I would be going.
I hated how long it takes the elevator to go up. What I hated more was the fact that some shitty songs would be played and I have no choice but to listen to it.
The elevator door slowly opened. I walked through the hallway, thinking about what my girlfriend's reaction would be when I arrive.
I gently opened her door, being greeted by her figure on the bed, sleeping peacefully. I went up to her and replaced the withered flowers placed right beside her bed with the new ones. I wanted to talk to Lisa but I shouldn't wake her up since she has to regain strength.
Lalisa Manoban, a 20-year-old dancer, caught a disease called CFS or Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. At first, Lisa was just feeling sore around her legs so she didn't put much attention to it. I told her to get it checked up since I can't bear seeing her hurt.
The doctor said that it would be best if she stayed at the hospital since her condition is getting worse. I was told that there is a chance she wouldn't be able to walk in the future. I decided not to tell her.
"Jennie?" Lisa called out, her beautiful voice still raspy. "You're awake! I bought you some flowers." I said, giving her a faint smile.
Noticing the fake smile I had, Lisa asked with underlying concern in her eyes ."Nini, I can tell that something is wrong. What's bothering you?".
"It's nothing... I just miss everything we do... I miss dancing with you." I replied. "Don't worry! We'll be dancing nonstop as soon as I get better!" Lisa said with enthusiasm.
Little did I know, a tear already fell from my eye."Please don't cry... If you cry, I'll cry too." Lisa pouted. "It's just... I'm really happy that you're still strong despite what's happening.." a smile crept up on my face. "I have to be strong... For you."
