"Lou? You okay?"

It takes a few seconds for Louis to reply, but he comes into Harry's view with an upsetting look on his face.

"Um.. Harry. Do you mind if I step out for a while. I need to run an errand really fast. I'm so sorry but can you watch Michael while I'm gone?"

Harry wasn't mad but he was a bit upset that Louis had to leave even though they were just about to start the movie.

"Uh.. yea sure, it's fine."

"Thanks! I really owe you one."

Louis ran out of the apartment, leaving Harry left alone to wonder.

Here's what happened that night.

••••

Louis rushed out of Harry's flat, anger fuming inside of him. But deep down is where he stored his fear. He wasn't ready to see him. The man that changed his life, his perspective on things, the man who made him who he was today.

The call was from Mason. He wants to see his "son". Louis anger increases.

He called Michael HIS son.

That man doesn't deserve anything, especially not to see Michael after all he's done.

The memories flood back as he gets in his car and begins to drive. The way he used to threaten Louis, abuse him, make his life a living hell. And all while Michael, a child, was in the room sleeping peacefully in his crib.

Louis had just lost his bestfriend, and now had the responsibility of caring for her child. He was under a lot of stress and at the time, he was far away from home. Louis never wanted Michael out of his sight, that's why Jay was rarely the one with Michael. She never knew the situation until Michael was 5. He was protective over the child. Looking into the small enfants eyes you can see his mother. He would give his life for this child.

So the only one around was his "boyfriend" Mason.

They met and at first there was a connection, Mason was treating Louis right. Loving and respecting Louis wishes. But soon enough, that love turned into hate, Louis refused to lose his virginity because it didn't feel right, which made Mason furious.

It started with a few fights, yelling over each other because of small little accidents. Then Mason began taking things. Louis phone, the car keys, even the keys to the flat, leaving Louis no choice but to go to a hotel with Michael.

One day Louis woke up and Michael was gone, Mason had taken him while Louis was resting. Louis called the police but Mason acted as if nothing bad had happened and Louis was the one being paranoid.

Then came the abuse. A few slaps here and there, punches thrown. And since Mason was bigger, he had the advantage. He held Louis down and did horrible things, the memories drag him in and he shakes at the thought.

A car honk from behind pulls him out of that state of mind and he continues on. He reaches the place they were said to meet and he parks. Getting out of the car, he notices how late it is and how vulnerable he may look. But in reality, all of the anger built up inside of him all these years may allow him to get the strength he needed.

But it was too late and too quick for him to do anything.

His vision went dark as something was placed on top of his head. Punches were thrown and he was being held back from each limb. He couldn't move at all no matter how hard he fought. They kept at him, not stopping for a second. Louis was seeing stars from the pain, he couldn't think, the air was escaping his body and he felt as if this were his last moments.

Louis was then tossed onto the ground, he wasn't able to move as the pain paralyzed him onto the ground. He curled up into a ball and groaned from the pain. He couldn't speak.

But a voice came close to his ear. A voice he would never forget.

"I've found you, my love."

The voice then faded away, footsteps retreating, Louis was left alone. Unable to move or yell for help. He lay there, time passing by. Until he can finally gather the strength to get up. The cloth glides down and falls to the floor. The light from the street blinding his now swollen eyes.

Louis stumbles up onto the car breathing heavily. He sits there for a while longer, his eyes closed and his heart beating out of his chest.

Tears stream down one by one.

He lost Mason, there was no way he could've found Louis. Louis had made sure of that.

Confusion, pain, anger, fear.

Emotions making there way inside of his head. What was he to do now?

Looking at the clock it reads 10:15.

He needed to get Michael, before Mason did.

••••

"I'm fine love, just need Michael and I'll head home." His smile seems fake, like he's forcing it out.

"You know you're welcome to stay, you can talk to me." Harry assures.

Louis nods his head, he knows Harry's worried and he doesn't want him to be, so he grabs onto Harry's waist and leans forward, kissing him on the cheek.

"I'm fine love. Thank you, truly."

Harry moves to the side and let's Louis pass, his eyes big and the sensation from Louis kiss lingering.

••••

The pain increases with each step Louis takes as he carries Michael inside, rushing the small boy to his bed.

Gently, he places the sleeping child onto the bed and covers him with the blanket. Louis then slides in next to Michael, groaning as he attempts to find a comfortable way to position himself.

He places his hand gently onto Michael's hair and begins to comb through it with his fingers. His tears start again as he imagines what may come next. But one thing was for sure in his mind.

Nothing was going to happen to Miley's baby.
