Chapter Sixteen: Plummeting to Death

I could just barely sense the rest of the group. Running deep into the woods like this, with a killer you couldnt see, and it being past 2:00 AM, it was too dangerous. They split up. Shit. How am I going to find them all, now?

I slowed down, concentrating on the flow of blood from the others. Thats how I was sensing them, by controlling my sense to pick up their blood scents. Someone was hurt... but.. who? Was it Trinity, the one who I thought I heard scream? This cant be happening...

They had split into three groups. But who was alone? Were they really that idiotic? No, impossible. Or... maybe?

I leaned against a small tree, still concentrating my power on the guys. Two groups now, someone found the lone one. Good.

"Trinity! Sami! Mario?" I yelled into the pitch-black darkness.

"Star?" I heard faintly. The sound of footsteps grew louder. Jumping onto a treebranch, I stayed low. I watched the ground cautiously, preparing for an unseen attack. A familiar, half white half black head came into view from under me. I jumped down behind them, startling the three. Sami, Mario, and Noah.

"Where is Trinity and Jason?" I asked.

Noah backed away a little. My eyes were scaring him. "I dunno, we lost them a ways back. Weve been trying to find them."

The smell of blood wafted through the air, and it wasnt coming from me. Mario's hoodie was stained a bright red.

"You're hurt!" I said, coming to Mario.

"Im fine," he said, "We just gotta get moving."

"No, the others can wait. We cant have anyone hurt right now." He pulled off his hoodie, and right across his stomach, lay a giant gash in his right side. It gushed blood, which made me dizzy. For some reason, the smell was driving me insane. I craved it.

Shaking my head, I tied his hoodie around him tightly. "That should help with the blood flow."

Something flew above our heads. "RUN!" I screamed. We all took off in the opposite direction, heading deeper and deeper into the woods. I marked the trees as we went, just in-case we got lost.

Two more flew above-head, making Sami scream. She grabbed her shoulder, which was bleeding. They cut her. I growled under my breath. Noah was holding his shoulder, too. I couldn't lose myself. Not here. Not now. Don't give in. Let's do this.

Mario came to an abrupt stop. We all stopped behind him, then looked down. Down, down, down, ran huge boulders. It was atleast 800 feet high, we stood on a cliff.

"Shit..." I whispered, turning around. We were surrounded, two on my left side, two on my right.

"Mario, attack! Protect Sami and Noah at all costs!" I said, jumping infront of the two on my left. Mario stepped infront of the other two from the right.

I always fought in the slower dimension. Mario could see where the attacks were, where the two demons were. But.. that's impossible. Unless.. no just keep focused on the task at hand.

****Few minutes later****

Mario has already taken care of the other two! I thought, dodging another blow from the figure. These two were extremely skilled, remarkably fast, and very flexible. I threw a knife into ones head, making them fall instantly.

"Mario, get the other two outta here!" I yelled. He nodded. He grabbed Samis hand, and Noahs arm.

"S-Star!" Noah said.

I turned to him and smiled. "Go."

He nodded, looking away. We're those actual tears I saw in his eyes? I became unfocused, which landed me a hard blow to the head. I called back, almost falling over the cliff. I held on to actual dear life by my hands. The demon came over to me.

"Looks like it's over for you." He laughed. I grinned.

"Hell, your coming back to Hell right along with me."

I grabbed the demon by his ankles, pulling him over the edge, throwing him. I threw too hard, so I plummeted along with him.

Closer and closer, the ground came into view from below. I heard Noah and Sami scream my name.

I grinned to myself.

Looks like this is the end... I thought. The ground was going to kill me. Mario... take care of them.... Sami... Noah...Trinity...Scott...Jason...Mario.... Goodbye...
