Chapter Twenty-One: Saving Scott

"W-what do you mean? Dead?" Jason said.

Noah turned around and walked a few yards away. Samis newly developed senses could see him clearly. Noah punched the tree, breaking his knuckles. She could see tears falling down his cheeks.

Sami looked at her hand, where her wrist had been cut open to seal some of the demons spirit inside her. Stars cold touch still lingered. She balled her hand into a fist, tightening it. She looked up at the sky, where the first few hours of day shone.

"We have to go get Scott. I can help him. Then we ARE coming back for Star." Sami said confidently.

"You watched her fall," Mario said in a hushed voice, not letting Noah hear, "You know shes gone."

Sami grinned at Mario. "Ah contrare, you never know. I have hope in her. Shes strong. Shes made through it, Im sure."

Noah came back, having calmed down. "Lets go get Scott."

****Under the Cliffside****

Jesus... it hurts, I thought. Sami had came back, but what happened to Noah and Mario? Noah... I wish... I had just one more chance.. to tell him how much he means to me. He will meet someone special... I just know it. My heartbeat was steadily slowing, a quiet 'bump, bump' filling my ears. Sami has some of that power...now. She can...do it... for sure.

I cant...move my body. It ... hurts too much. Im not paralyzed... thats good to know.. the spirit saved my life. Maybe that... once evil... spirit will.. help both me and Sami...

***Back at the School Parking Lot***

"Scott!" Sami ran towards Scott's lifeless body. His face was pale, meaning no blood has pumped through. His eyes were dilated, and they look like they lost their natural green-blue colour.

Sami kneeled beside Scott, putting a hand on the slit wound on his neck. Her hand glowed a dark grey, just like Stars did, but hers was red. Sami shook the thought of Star out of her head. She knew Star was alive. But barely. They cant waste any time, they need to get back down to her. But then, since the lower dimensions think Stars human body is deceased, theres no doubt. Theyll be coming for Stars body. Sami looked back at Noah, who was staring at Samis glowing hand. A look of recognition filled his face, his eyes brightening. Sami smiled and nodded at him.

"She isnt dead."

"...."

Scott raised to his knees, rubbing the now fully-formed scar on his neck.

"What happened?" he asked.

"The game possessed you. Its over now. We must go find Star." Sami said.

"What happened to her?"

"She got thrown off the cliffside. Shes badly injured. I have half her powers, now. She gave them to me. Star put the responsibility into my hands. And now, weve been blooded as sisters. I have to get her."

Scott nodded. "Lets go get Star, then."
