Weeks had passed after the almost kiss and Vincent's suspension. Nobody said a thing about anything. It was now almost well forgotten. Although it was hard to forget when Shawn and I were becoming such good friends.

This is what's funny. People say that a boy and a girl can't be friends without them falling for each other. Bullcrap, right? But I have been thinking about that a lot lately. Of course it's true. I mean, think about it. Have you ever been really close friends with someone that you developed feelings for them? Well they most likely felt the same at some point. And trust me, I would know. Wait, sorry. Spoiler.

After a lot of days of planning, my mom had finally decided on what she would do to glue me and my friends together again. We were going camping. Yes, camping. And I was sure that most of us weren't going to survive the three day sleepover in the woods.

We were all in my mom's office (not her school office, she works as a therapist after school is over) when she and the rest of the parents told us the news. Tamara looked the most happy of all. Her mom had come back but she had her dad come to the house a few days a week to help them. She was happy to finally have a chance to breathe.

We were going to place that was three hours away from The Town called Forest Trail. It was a therapy place that a friend of my mom owned and was made for people to bond or some crap like that. It was stupid in my opinion.

Okay, so we were stuck for three days in fake woods together. We could just like, not talk to each other, right? Nope. We had to do team building exercises to win our food. What kind of place does that?

The first night we ate s'mores. We were at a campfire that we made. It reminded me of a trip we made in elementary school where we played truth or truth. That's how we met. A year later we had become friends.

For old times sake, we played truth or truth. Ashley started. "I'm not a virgin..." We all gasped. This was amazing to hear since she her parents were really religious.

Michael said he once climbed a tree to impress a girl and broke his wrist coming down. We all laughed.

We were all laughing and crying and gasping. This was the best game to play when you're forced to get along with people.

Things got more interesting when it was Tamara's turn. She started by looking down. We all knew it was something bad.

"You guys remember my dad left right?" We all nodded. "He..." she trailed off. She wiped the tears from her cheeks and continued. "Well. He cheated on my mom various times before he left. All the times with the same woman. I knew he had a son. Apparently he had two while he was still with us. And a daughter, but that was the first time he left. One of them is the same age as us. One is a senior and the daughter's still in middle school."

We all stared in awe. I then spoke. "Wait, but you're dad's at The Town right? So do we know his sons?" She looked at me with pain in her eyes. "My dad...he's... Well, you know how I'm the only one who doesn't really mind that you and Shawn are friends? Well..." She started crying.

We stayed silent. This was a lot to take in. "Then, I almost kissed your brother." I whispered. They still heard it though, but they stayed quiet as if they hadn't. They'd probably yell at me and we wouldn't get breakfast the next morning if they did.

After we all managed to process the news we were silent. A few of the girls were hugging Tamara. We didn't know how to react, I mean. How do you react when your best friend is the sister of the guy you hate the most?

The next two days were a blur. To be honest, I don't remember much. Just that we agreed that what we said at the campfire stayed at the campfire.

On Sunday, when we were finally free from fake-woods hell my phone was blowing up just from Shawn's messages.

Half of them were asking if I was mad and if that was the reason if I wasn't answering. The other half of them was him asking me if I was okay.

I tried to explain to him the camping trip. It was kind of difficult to explain actually, I had too much adrenaline in my blood.

I tried to decide if I should tell him about his dad's other family. He most likely knew, but I didn't want to ruin his happiness if he didn't.

Five minutes had passed. I decided to ask him, but I didn't know the right way to approach it.

The next morning I met him in the school parking lot. We decide to meet there half an hour before the bell rang.

"So...I don't know if there is any right way to say this..." I started. I really don't know if there's a right way to say that. "Did you know that Tamara's dad left her and her mom?" He nodded. "Of course, everybody knows." I continued. "Did you know that he has children? Five actually." He looked at me with a serious face. He knew. "Yes, I know that Tamara is my half sister. I've known for a while. He told us when he started to help her and her mom. My mom is still mad at him. She hasn't talked to him in a week."

I looked at him and took his hand. I leaned my head on his shoulder and closed my eyes. I didn't know what to say. Yes, my parents fought. But never because the other one cheated. They just didn't get along.

"I'm sorry" I whispered. And we stayed together until the bell rang and we ran to our first class.
