"i hate pre-calc." i closed my binder, and rested my head in grayson's lap.
he laughed, and moved his fingers through my hair. "i liked pre-calc a lot. now i like it even more, because it gave me an excuse to... be around you."
i poked my bottom lip out, and squealed as grayson pulled me onto his lap.
grayson's pretty eyes widened, and his hands immediately fell to my sides. "oh god, did i hurt you? are you okay, mimi?"
"i'm alright, baby." i cupped his face in my hands, and smiled. "i was just caught off guard."
suddenly, there was a bunch of pounding on my door, and it was driving me crazy.
i hopped off of my bed, and groaned as i made my way to the door. "it's never that serious, stop banging on my door."
when i opened it, i saw arielle and ethan, looking pretty angry. i sighed, and folded my arms.
"arielle is getting on my last fucking nerve." ethan pinched the bridge of his nose, and attempted to fix his messy hair. "we need your advice."
i covered my mouth with my sleeves, to keep myself from laughing. "you know, there are a ton of other people that you could bother. for example, you have jacob, your mom, your dad, your sister... my mom, my dad, your brother–"
grayson whined. "i don't wanna talk about arielle with him, l-leave me out of it."
"i rest my case," i shrugged.
arielle pushed past ethan and i, and took a seat in the chair near my desk. "i'm not leaving until you help me."
she really wanted me to help her, after everything she said to me?
i raised my brows, and checked out my nails. "yeah, there's a little problem. i'm not going to help somebody that called me a slut, and talked about me not having a father figure in my life, in the same sentence."
grayson frowned, and motioned for me to come to him. "arielle, why would you say that to her?"
i made my way back to grayson, and took a seat in between his legs.
arielle looked at ethan, who happened to be glaring at her. "it's really none of your business."
grayson was rubbing my back, to calm me down a little bit. "arielle, why do you always bother me if you hate me so much? what does that do for you?"
she narrowed her eyes. "i asked for help with a boy problem, not for a fucking therapy session."
ethan took a seat on the edge of my bed, and sighed. "you don't get it, arielle. i want to be here for you, as a friend. i've always felt that way, but now... i'm really upset at you. i don't get why you're so mean."
i could tell that grayson was getting nervous, he usually did everything he could to avoid conflict. "are you alright?" i whispered.
he nodded, and tangled his hands in my hair again. this whole situation was messy, and it was making everybody uncomfortable.
arielle tightened her ponytail, and glared at ethan. "you won't ever get a girl like camila, and i'm never gonna be like camila. i'm the best you can get, ethan. i'm the best you'll ever get."
without saying a word, ethan turned on his heels and slammed the door behind him.
she really had gone too far, but she didn't care. going too far was what she did best. at this point, arielle didn't care whose feelings she hurt. i think that she just wanted to feel something, anything.
i wondered who she would go after, next.
