Ch. 2 Research

Mephiles's pov

I sighed and pulled the cover's off and went into my bathroom and washed my face after I dried my face I looked at myself in the mirror, after staring at myself for a minute I left my room and went downstairs and I didn't find my brother or sonic. That is until I heard some noise in the kitchen, when I walked in I saw my brother standing behind sonic with his arms around his waist. I can hear sonic giggling from what shadow said in his ear while he was cooking something. I rolled my eye's with a smirk, I cleared my throat and watched them both jump in surprise which made me chuckle, shadow and sonic turned around and saw me standing in the doorway of the kitchen with a smirk on my lips. "He-hey little bro how'd you sleep" shadow stuttered with a blush on his face which made me chuckle. "I slept ok shadow thanks for asking" I said while sitting down at the kitchen table. Sonic went back to what he was making and shadow went and sat with me at the table.

Me and Shadow started to chat while sonic did his cooking, after a bit sonic got done and put them on three plates and put two in front of me and shadow and the other by shadow and sat down. "I thought you'd be hungry when you woke up so I made some food you might like" he said while starting to eat. I looked at my food and sonic made white rice with chicken with soe sauce, and a little bit of salad. I picked up my fork and tried some of the chicken with the sauce and some rice, when I put it in my mouth and my eye's went wide. I started to eat more of the food I heard someone snickering I looked at shadow and he had a smirk on his face "what"? I questioned and shadow pointed with his fork and I looked and saw my tail wagging, my face went red "sh-shut up asshole" I mumbled which made shadow laugh and sonic giggled in his hand.

After all of us got done I told sonic I would do the dishes since he can relax in front room and sonic thanked me and walked into the living room with shadow. While I was washing dishes I looked out the window and saw shadow's backyard, he lived close to a forest and I kind of liked it when I was starting to wash the dishes again something caught my eye. I saw some bushes rustling and then I saw two glowing eye's from the bushes even though it was broad daylight outside. The eye's were looking right at me, my heart started beating faster and I wasn't paying attention I cut my hand with a knife. "SHIT!" I cursed and grabbed my hand, my loud cursing was heard as shadow came running in "Mephiles what happened" I didn't answer just whimpered and shadow rushed over and saw blood on my hand he grabbed a rag and wrapped it around my hand sonic came into the kitchen and saw my blood on the counter "Ill go get the first aid kit" he said and ran off and came back in a blink of an eye.

My brother cleaned my cut and started to wrap my hand in bandages "meph what happened?" I didn't want to tell him about the glowing eye's because he would go nuts so I made up a lie " The knife slipped from my hand when I was cleaning it sorry for the trouble bro" I said while looking down. Shadow grabbed my good hand and griped it, I looked up at him and he gave me a smile, "hey it's no trouble little bro accidents happen so it's alright so how about you go relax in the living room and I'll finish the dishes ok" I nodded and thanked him and sonic for their help and they both nodded. I sat down on the couch and tried to watch some TV but my mind kept going back to those yellow eyes I saw then I remembered I saw those same eye's from my dream "could that creature be real" I thought.

Normal pov

Later that day mephiles was in his room on his laptop doing some research about the creature he saw in his dream and so far he found nothing about them which made him frustrated he leaned back on his computer chair and groaned 'why can't I find anything about that thing' he thought. His thoughts were cut off when he heard someone knocking on his door, he closed his laptop and turned around in his chair "come in" he saw shadow coming in " hey meph I came to check up on ya how's your hand?" "Its ok still sore thou" Shadow nodded "I also came up to see if you wanted to come with me and sonic to the carnival with our friends, I would like you to introduce you to them?" Shadow said while plopping down on mephiles bed. Mephiles smiled and nodded "alright let me change and I'll meet you downstairs bro" he said while going to his closet, shadow nodded and left the room and went to change himself. While that was happing in the house the sudden creature mephiles was wondering about was watching him threw his window from his spot hidden in the tree line "soon my love we will meet again" he said while slithering away from the house and back into the forest.
