Chapter 37

Jacks POV

I woke up to crying, I thought it was Danielle but it was June. I rolled over and pulled her into my arms

"Baby what's wrong?" I asked

"I don't want her to go" she cried

"Baby, maybe we can work something out with her mom" I reassured her

We woke up around 9, Christina knocked on the door informing us Danielle's mom was here. June and I got up and changed into something a tad more presentable and walked downstairs.

"Thank you so much for taking care of my little girl" the woman squealed as she carried another baby on her hip, causing June to have tears in her eyes

"It was no problem, I loved her company" June responded

"I'll go wake her up" June said as she headed back upstairs to get Danielle

"Are you her husband?" The woman asked me

"Yes" I felt amazing for saying it

"Yeah, my husband left Danielle and I" she said with sadness in her voice

"I thought you went to get him?" I asked confused

"No I went to get Danielle's father, my husband, his father left us a few days ago" she cried

Danielle ran downstairs and ran to her mother all excited.

"I missed you babygirl" the mother cried

"I missed you mommy, my other mommy June took really good care of me and bought me new clothes" she squealed in excitement

The mothers heart looked whole

"Did she? Show me what she got you" her mom did excited

Danielle ran over to the back June packed with her belonging and she ripped them or showing her mother. Her mom smiled and mouthed 'thank you' to us. We nodded.

"Are you ready to go?" The mother asked the innocent daughter

"No I want to stay with my new mommy" Danielle cried

"No Danielle you need to go with your real mom" June pushed

"No, mommy tell her she's my new mommy" Danielle begged as she cried 

"Tell her" she kept insisting

"Tell me what?" June said with anger in her voice

Everyone ran downstairs as they heard June getting angry

The woman sat down on the couch and cried

"Tell me what?" June edged on

"Danielle is my foster child, her father dropped her off at the foster home 6 months ago and left her there. I am one of the foster moms in south California. Her real aunt paid for us two to go to Disney land. I got a call from one of my other sons, telling me, my husband who did leave me a few days ago, left them. I managed to lose Danielle on the journey out of the park. Then she met you guys and she wants you to have her" she cried into her hands as her babies played on the floor

"So what do we have to do to adopt her?" Jonah spoke coming from the staircase

Both June and I were in shock, I'm glad he spoke

"Sign a few papers, a judge stamps the approval and she's yours" she said as if it was a relief off her shoulders.

"Do you have the papers, I'll sign now" Jonah requested

"No but I can meet you tomorrow and we can fill them out" the woman responded

We all nodded in agreement. She had to take Danielle with her, Danielle cried the entire way to the car.

"I'll see you tomorrow baby" June said as she kissed Danielle's forehead calming her down.

"You'll be my baby tomorrow" she said strapping the seatbelt

June shut the door to the minivan rental and waved off our soon to be little girl.

The rest of the day was pretty dull, I was filled with mixed emotions. June was laying on the couch next to me and I walked over and sat on her making her laugh.

"Jack baby, how do you feel?" She asked

"About what?" I said as I wrapped my arms around her

"Danielle?" She questioned

"Danielle Avery, I like it. But not as much as I like June Avery" I responded noticing her cheeks turn red

"One day" she said smiling so hard it was contagious

We ended up looking more into this adoption thing and trying to find out everything we needed. Carters step mom helped us and informed us that there needed to be a bedroom for her and food and things like that. June cleaned every piece of the house.

"So sign on the dotted line and we see the judge next week" the woman spoke at the table in Panera bread

"Next week?" I questioned

"I have to process the paper and the judge needs to approve it" she responded

Something didn't seem right here.

"Well Danielle is coming home with us tonight" I insisted and she shook her head no

I could feel myself getting hot so I shoved the table as I got up and walked outside and Daniel followed me

"How do I know she's safe there" I said to him

" we don't, we have to hope she is" he said

" a week! A fucking week!" I kept repeating

" well the fans come tomorrow for 5 days so when they're gone, you'll get your little girl" he spoke

"Our little girl" I said knowing all of us wanted her and wanted her in our family. We hugged and walked back inside. I signed my name next to June's.

Carters step mom told us to take pictures of every document, so we did exactly that. Danielle kissed us goodbye and we told her we would see her in a couple days. When we got back home we sent Carters step mom the photos and she immediately responded concerned.

"Where's that little girl?" She spoke worried

" at her home" I said into the phone

"Go get her" she insisted.

I told everyone and I sped to the foster home and banged on the door with no response. The minivan was gone. I called her back and asked about the situation

"Danielle's real name is Ellie and was kidnapped 6 months ago. And you just found her and let her go" she said once again

"We lost her" I repeated in my head. I felt June cry into my arms. We needed to find her.
