Letting Go of Pain

18 3 1

The struggles that no one sees
Become so real like the trees
Rustling in the wind
But no one believes
Your lies
Or sees what you wish was hidden
From their eyes

What I've found
Is when you're down
Feeling drowned underground
With no hope of escape
And a frown
On your face
That the race
Of life isn't over
Until you place

The silence is deafening
No one is hearing
What you're saying
And the dreams you're dreaming
Are more like nightmares
Threatening
To take over
Your entire being

Weighed down by depression
Now your session
Of oppression
Becomes the expression
You try to hide
That's not the exception
For the exception
Is your smile

When you let go of the pain
Nothing will be the same
It won't strain
Or make you feel insane
Like a child whipped with a cane
Though it becomes plain
That the pain
Is the bane
Of your very existence

The dark has no hold on you
Yes, it's true
The only thing keeping
It attached is your glue
What you can do
Is take the dark
You thought grew
Release it
And start new

Trust me
I've been there too
