Good enough

She looks in the mirror
And sees every flaw
Every fat roll
Every stretch mark
Every imperfect inch
She knows she looks bad
And under her own
Scrutinizing gaze
She knows she is
Not enough
Not good enough
Not perfect enough
Not pretty enough
She looks at herself
And sees every scar
Every purple line
Every crimson red mark
Each one yelling out
Their own story
Of pain
And suffering
She sees her body
In its horrible state
And remembers the days
She has deprived herself
Of food
To try and make
Herself look better
But she knows that
All her efforts are
In vain
For she can see
How she has not gotten
Thinner
No matter how much
She tries to
Perhaps one day
It will happen
Maybe the pain will
Eventually go away
She tries to numb
The pain
That's what the scars
Are from
But that doesn't last
Very long at all
Although it does work
For a little while
She looks at herself
And sees her wrongs
She sees everything
That is not perfect
Every part of her
That could not be
Good enough

Because she knows
She will never be

Good enough
