Oops, I really like Panic so....
Heh.....
The imagine is inspired by the song but I tried to be as original as possible.

"I'm not trying to hurt you."

"You never listen to me." You said in a hushed whisper. And with that you turned away from your boyfriend and went upstairs slamming the door to your bedroom.

After a few years of dating anyone you were bound to fight. All couples did. And with Nate's busy schedule you began to feel more and more isolated. Fights became more frequently in the usually quiet apartment.

Flustered, you sat in your bedroom and attempted to calm down. Quick and heavy breaths left your mouth. Your eyes were pink from crying, your hands were shaking out of worry, and your throat felt dry.

You heard faint mumbling and shuffling from downstairs. Nate slowly make his way over to the door and knocked. You pulled up the covers on your bed and tried to ignore him. He knocked again and you turned to face the door.

"I need some time alone for now Nate."
You spoke with a hoarse voice. Nate sighed from outside the room.
"Y/N, please-" you cut off your boyfriend's plea and began to raise your voice.

"Nate, I can't do this right now." You took in a heavy breath and continued. "Please, for once, I just want to be alone okay? We can talk about this later."
You lied down again as you heard the sound of footsteps get more distant. In an attempt to calm yourself down and lied down. Soon your breath slowed down and you drifted off to sleep for the night.

•••

You woke up earlier than usual. A shiver ran through your spine and you soon realized that you were alone in the bed. Memories soon kicked in of the events of the previous day. Confused to where Nate might be, you made your way over to the door. With a quick glance you saw he was nowhere upstairs so you decended the stairs.

You saw your boyfriend curled up on the couch with a pillow pressed against his chest. The sight was adorable no matter how upset you were from the fight. You approached your sleeping boyfriend and gave him a quick peck on the cheek. He shuffled a bit in his sleep and then began to smile. A grin graced your features as you stepped away from the scene and into the kitchen, get yourself something to drink.

When you reached for a mug, a sudden weight rest in the crook of your neck and arms wrapped loosely around your neck and shoulders. You brought your arms up to meet his.

"Morning Nate." You said with a yawn. He hummed in response. You two stood in a short lived silence before Nate spoke.

"Y/N, we have to talk about last night." Nate spoke and withdrew his embrace from you. A frown formed on your face realizing the reality of the situation that you refused to take in.  "I can see right through you. I get what happened let's not relive any of that. "

Nate's footsteps came to a halt. Silence filled the kitchen. He made his way back over to face you. "I love you a lot. You know that right?" He took in a shaky breath. "I want our relationship to work. And I can't just-just ignore what happened yesterday. I can't stand that you didn't want me to even be near you." As he trailed off, he leaned into you, touching foreheads and locking together your hands. A small sob escaped from him.

Once you saw his face you could tell he had been crying the day before. His dark circles seemed to become slightly worse and his eyes were still a bit red. You couldn't help but think about how you must look exactly the same.

You cupped his cheek and brought him to look at you, relaxing from the warmth. "I'm not trying to hurt you. Nate, I love you just as much. I just find it kinda hard to keep this going on if you're never with me." Tears began to fall from your eyes. "I don't care where but I need to be with you. And I can't just leave us like we're nothing. I can't live without you." You felt your boyfriend's tears as well. Both of you were a sobbing mess.

The two of you were standing in the kitchen crying your eyes out. Crying and telling each other how you didn't want to leave, as if you were just drifting away from this fight alone.

He looked at you straight in the eyes and quickly began to wipe his tears. "I'm sorry." His hands were shaking and his voice was hoarse. "I just want you to be happy with me. I want to be able to- to provide for you."

As he continued to talk he began to get out of his crying state. "I have good intentions. What happens might be bittersweet or not like my plans but I just want to keep you happy." He was beaming with pride as he was talking to you. A huge smile on his face and his tears seemed to have stopped.

You gave him a soft and loving kiss. "You can't keep me happy if I never get to see you."

He wrapped his arms around protectively and brought you close. "I'm sorry. I'm so so sorry." Nate said, running his fingers through your hair. "I promise I'll try to find some time for us."

He returned your kiss from before and stared into your eyes lovingly. "I love you." He said, cupping your cheek. You spoke in a hushed voice.

"I love you too."

I hope that you still liked that. It might have not been my best work but I hope you still enjoyed! I'd appreciate feedback on if this was good at all, I'm not sure how well I did for a song based imagine but I hope I was still original and didn't take everything from the song.

Thank you for reading!
