"You got good taste."

Working at a record store wouldn't be complete without being a music fanatic. Every day you were surrounded by numerous vinyl and record players, clearly not the most exciting job. Nonetheless you loved it. You simply loved music and seeing how others enjoyed it as well.

You also got full access to the inventory so you know which album you wanted to save for at the time. You didn't buy a new vinyl too often, you wanted to be positive you truly liked the album before getting the physical version of it.

Quickly making your way towards the small store bumping into others along the way a man got in your way, sending you straight to the ground.
"Sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry!" You kept apologizing to the man and quickly brushed yourself off. Your work just in view you pass the man before he even responded. Tripping over your feet you just make it to the small store.

"Sorry I'm late!" Yelling in the direction of your boss and taking his place behind the counter. A smile graced his features. "It's fine Y/N. Today has been slow anyways." You quickly return the smile hoping to show you truly are sorry. "Feel free to look around for now. I'll give your your pay at the end of today." Your boss quickly made his way to his office as you jumped in place due to joy. For now you just get to pick which record you plan to get once your shift is over.

Glancing at the different crates in the store a strangely colored record catches your eye. You quickly pick it up. Pretty Odd , it was a Panic! at the Disco album, probably one of your favorites. Also happening to be your last one in stock. The price not being high at all, 19.99, you decide to get it after your shift. Excited to get home you head back behind the counter and wait for the day to pass by.

Near the last half hour you were more than ever ready to leave. It truly was a slow day with only about eight people who had come in throughout the day. About to ask to be let off early a chime of a bell goes off near the door. Great, you think with a roll of your eyes. You truly were ready to go home. A man stepped into the store about six feet tall. He had black hair, black framed glasses and dimples.

Letting out a sigh you take your place back on the stool behind the counter. Just a little while longer. You calmly wait for the man to finish with his purchase. The only sound going on in the small little music store was the tic of a clock and the man's shuffling through each record. Your attention switched over to your phone seeing the man was taking his time.

A cough brought your attention back to your job at hand. The man was standing across from you clearly eager to make his purchase. Quickly apologizing you put up your phone and head over to the man.

He fixes his gaze on you as soon as a word slips from your mouth. "Do I know you?" Curiosity clearly in the man's voice. "Um. I don't believe so."

He changed his expression quickly. "Did you by any chance fall- well bump into anyone today? Near here?"
You were surprised to say the least. That by chance this man may have been the same one from earlier. "Yes..."

"I'm so sorry for bumping into you. You ran off before I could apologize." A friendly smile made its way to his face. He held out his hand. "I'm Nate. Nate Smith." You smiled back wanting to return this strangers kindness. "I'm Y/N. Y/N L/N." Shaking hands with Nate you soon remember that you're still working. "Also, it's fine. But I can get out of here in a while so let's get you ringed up." You said with a clap of your hands.

He hands you a record. The same one you had your eye on today. "You got good taste." With a small laugh you put the record in the bag and hope that it'll be restocked soon. "You like Panic?" This Nate guy seemed actually interested. "I was actually planning to get this after I got paid today."

A look of guilt soon crossed Nate's face. "Hey. How about to make it up to you from earlier, you can come over to my place and we can listen to the record?" He quickly put up his hands in defense. "I swear, I just want to make it up to you. Nothing shady."

"I think I'll take you up on that offer Smith." You say handing him his bag. By the time you were done it was time to close. "Wait for me outside, I gotta finish my shift here." You said with a smile. He listened and made his way out the doors. Quickly heading over to change the sign from open to closed and get your pay, you head over to Nate's place with him.

"How far away do you live?"

"Not too far, we should be there in about twenty minutes. "

You hum in reply and continue on your way.

Upon arrival to Nate's apartment you quickly take in the homey feel of the room. He rushed to put on the vinyl. "I really like your place." You said making your way over to his couch and taking a seat. "Thanks."

There was an extremely awkward tension that you didn't know how to break. Soon you just started to sing along to the music just under your breath. Nate soon joined in as well. One thing led to another and it soon became a loud karaoke match between the two of you to She's a Handsome Woman.

Flopping onto Nate's couch lazily you check the time on your phone.

11:21

"Shit!" You quickly shot up and began to get your stuff. Your sudden outburst left Nate in small shock. "Wha- what's wrong?" Confusion written on his face. "I still have work tomorrow, I gotta head...home." You hesitated when talking because it had just hit you in the moment of gathering your belongings.

"Sorry for keeping you. You should be going." Nate said with a half hearted smile on his face. You approached the door and once you were halfway out you turned to the ebony haired man.

"So...since you bought my album of choice I'm planning on getting a new on tomorrow."

You began to grin from ear to ear with Nate mirroring the same expression.

"Wanna come over to my place tomorrow and listen to that?"

.....

"I'd love to."

Finally, stepping out of the door way
"Well then-"

"It's a date."
