Natsu's P.O.V
Geez, I screwed up. I didn't mean to blame Lucy. Man, I've never seen her so angry before.
When bell rang a couple of minutes ago, Lucy shot up from her seat and almost run towards the door, ignoring me.
I quickly followed her to apologize. Gajeel caught up with me.
"What's up dude?" he asked, concerned.
"I..." I trailed off, distracted as I tried to keep up with Lucy.
"See you later at try-outs," he called over as he turned to the other direction.
I caught up with Lucy's pace. "C'mon, Luce, I'm sorry. I just overreacted."
She gave me a blank look. "You have to forgive me. You owe from the apple pie, remember?"
I half-joked, hoping I'll be off the hook. I know it's a low blow, but I was desperate.
Lucy stopped walking and fumbled in her pocket for a dollar. She handed it to me and walked away.
My mouth dropped open. Hmm,.maybe that didn't work.
"I'm not gonna take this." I told her.
Lucy rolled her eyes at me, and then started walking again.
"Please....L, I'm really sorry. I'll make it up to you."
We went to RST. Mrs. Roberts was already in her again, engrossed in reading the gossip pages online.
Lucy sat on a chair between two occupied ones, intent on keeping her distance from me.
I turned to the guy at her right.
"Can I sit here?" I asked him.
"Dude, I'm already here. Are you blind..." he stopped talking when he looked up when he saw me.
He blinked rapidly as he immediately stood up and removed his bag from the chair.
"Uh - sure, Natsu!"
"Thanks." I sais vaguely. I turned to Lucy, and she still looked pissed. She obviously didn't expect that I would do that.
I smiled. "You can't give me that cold shoulder forever, L."
She didn't answer. I sighed. "Fine," I said leaning to her. "Name it."
She frowned in confusion, but she's still looking.
"Name anything you want. I mean it."
She stared at me, looking doubtful. "Just leave me alone." she said coldly.
"And it took thirty-seven minutes for you to speak again." I said, as I glanced at my watch.
"Yeah, to tell you to leave me alone, Natsu."
I gazed at her. I waited for a few seconds. She sounded like she meant it.
"I won't do that."
"Why not?" she asked exasperatedly.
"Cause your my best friend." I said with a straight face.
(Uhh..Friendzone...)
She looked like she was about to mock me, but she was taken off-guard by how determined I was.
"So...What do you want?" I asked her again.
She opened her mouth, but then closed it.
"What if I order pizza tonight, just for you?" I offered. This, I know she won't decline.
I know her too well.
She thought about it, considering the idea.
"Two boxes of pepperoni pizza?" she asked me.
"Sure." I smiled.
"And...mac 'n cheese?"
"Okay."
She can work up a huge appetite. Since we were ten years old, I've actually been wondering how she could eat and eat but never get fat.
Underneath the baggy clothes, Lucy's pretty fit.
Her eyes sparkled with delight when she said, "Deal."
"You sure you don't want to add more?" I teased.
"Mac 'n cheese... pizza... pepperoni..." she smiled thoughtfully.
I chuckled. "I guess I'm forgiven, then."
