LUCY'S P.O.V

Levy and I were walking down the hallway toward the front entrance of the school. We just finished posting flyers for our Theater Club.

As we were by the doors when Levy's mom pulled up in the driveway.

"Ciao!" Levy exclaimed, as she ran over her mom's car. It took me a second to notice Natsu leaning by the stairs' railing, patiently waiting for me. He was looking down at his feet with a blank expression.

I walked down the stairs, towards him. He looked up. When he saw me, he softly smiled. My heart beat faster. Doesn't he know what effect that smile has on me?

I sighed. Of course he didn't know.

"Yo, L." He greeted me. I remembered how to breath as I greeted him back.

We went home, walking on the bike path. We talked about how kids our age couldn't live without internet anymore.

"How about you?" He suddenly asked, stopping in front of my house.

"What about me?"

"Well, you're not addicted to the internet." He explained grinning.

"How come you still can't wake up early?"

"I'm a rebel." I answered.

"The more you tell me to wake up, the more I won't." Natsu didn't reply. He just chuckled lightly, shaking his head. I turned to my house and started walking up the porch steps, but Natsu didn't move. I stopped and looked at him.

He looked like he wanted to tell me something.

"L, I..." He started. "You see, Lissana's dad just bought her a car....." I felt like I was about to hear something horrible.

"...and it's better if....."

"It's cool." I quickly said, intentionally interrupting him. I didn't want to hear the rest of what he had to say. I get it.

"I understand. It's no big deal. You guys have to spend more time with each other, anyway. Besides, it's not like I'm going to be upset about it." The last sentence is definitely a lie. I think he knew because he frowned at what I said. What did he expect?

All those years we rode the bus together. It was like a....tradition, almost. But then, Lissana pushed herself into our peaceful lives and now it was all over.

I couldn't smile in front of him anymore. The news he just broke to me was difficult to swallow.

"Later then," I muttered, turning my back to him.

I didn't bother to see if he was still there. All I was thinking at the moment was that I need to be alone.

I went to Gray's room and locked the door. If I had gone to my bedroom I'd still see Natsu.
