"Crystal, that sweater....I've seen it. Isn't it yours Luke? What's going on here? Did I miss something?"

I looked at Lucas and he was looking at me, then he opened his mouth to speak.

"Yes, its mine. I gave it to her."

My eyes were wide open when he said that. I didn't know how to act neither explain to Sharon the situation.

Sharon was confused and looked at me in question.
"Um...I don't get it, why would you give your jacket to her?"

Lucas turned to me and answered,
"Honestly I've been looking for a way to get rid of it and well, she said she liked it so I gave it to her as a present for my first day."

Sharon turned to me and gave me a suspicious look. I whispered to her that I can explain. But now was not the time.

"Sure...um...we should continue with our guide. See you after school, Cris. Text me."

Sharon grabbed Lucas by the arm and pushed him walking down the hall while she whispered to me, "we need to talk."
I nodded and stood still until they finished leaving the hallway.

Lucas turned once to wave goodbye, and I waved him back. By then, he didn't turn back again until they were completely gone.

After making sure they left, I turned around and walked the other way of the hall.

While making my way to my locker I was too engrossed petting the huge jacket on top of my little body, I didn't notice Cameron was behind me. I knew he was there when I got to my locker.

"Nice jacket." Laying his shoulder on the locker doors, he smiled nicely at me.

I grinned a little at him and hugged myself with the jacket.
"It's not mine."

He was silent for a while, so I turned to my locker and took out my literature book, big, old, red book with the word LITERATURE written in the top of the front cover.

"It looks adorable on you." He was still smiling and drove a hand on his dark, blonde hair.

I pulled one hair strand behind my ear and smiled.
"Thanks"

He patted on top of my head, nicely while he scoffed.

Memories came to my brain about what had happened this morning. I looked up to Cameron and softly told him what was I thinking.
"Cam..."

His smile was gorgeous and kind and he answered nicely.
"Yes Crystal?"
His eyes sparkled as the ceiling light above us was on.

"Um...I think, the best for you...for both of us, is to keep our distance." I tucked both my hands inside the jacket's side pockets, they were so damn warm.

He looked at me in confusion and got a little closer to me.
"Why? What do you mean? What's wrong?"

I looked down to my feet, how wasted but clean my sneakers looked. His breath could be felt on the side of my head. He was silent. He was still standing there. Waiting for me to answer.

My eyes traveled from my feet to Cameron's eyes.
"There are plenty of reasons why."

His look turned from nice to upset. And from upset to serious.
"Tell me one reasonable reason."
