"As for their conditions," the nurse starts. "Mr. Sutton does have a mild concussion, but he should be fine in a week to a month's time and he will be able to go home when in about a week or two, give or take a few days." She says. She looks up from her clipboard to us and then goes back to her clipboard and jots down a few things. Yes.... it feels like a hundred pound weight got lifted off my shoulders. Chance is going to be alright...

"As for Mr. Paul.... I'm so sorry, I really am, but he has slipped into a-" I block out everything else she says. Only a few pieces of what else she's saying come into my mind. "Mr. Paul is in a coma- it could last up from days to years."

Oh. My..... tears come down my cheeks. Jake could be in a coma for the rest of his life.... he could miss out on his son's first words.... I'm dreaming. I have to be. This can't be happening. No, absolutely not possible.

My mom wraps an arm around my shoulders as I sob into her shoulder. Honestly, I'm being super loud, but I don't give a shit.

I hear the doors burst open and Pam and Greg come in and their eyes widen. "My baby boy!" Pam says as she sees Jake. The nurse proceeds to tell Pam and Greg about Jake and Chance....

Pam's eyes widen and her mouth dropped. The wrinkles and fine lines around her forehead and eyes stretch out as her jaw drops. "No, no." Pam says in a whisper. Her eyes look empty and her body stiffens. "My son..." she says as she scurries over to Jake's side. "My son..." she says and starts to sob like me. Seeing Pam makes my heart break. She flew from Ohio all the way here to find out her son could be in a coma for the rest of his life. Greg looks at Jake and his body limps like all his insides just got poured out.

I just continue to cry and if my mom wasn't holding me, I probably would've fallen already.

All the times I've had with Jake flash in my mind. When I was at a photoshoot and he was also there.... and he looked at me and asked for my number back when we were 18.

Our first date.... it was at a quiet and cozy cafe and I had worn a tight sweater dress that went down a little above my knee. And Jake's hair was as blonde as ever. His sapphire blue eyes were sparkling. That was also my first kiss with Jake. When we were outside on the sidewalk, waiting for my uber, he looked deeply in my eyes, and tugged at my waist, bringing me closer to him and softly put his lips on mine. My arms were hanging off his shoulders and his hands were on my waist. It was a perfect kiss. It was dark outside, but not too dark, the sun was just leaving, and rain was drizzling out in light droplets.... perfect.

All of that....

The nurse walks out of the room for our privacy with Jake and Chance. I walk over to Jake. Even if he's in a coma, he looks very peaceful. I grab his hand but it just goes limp in mine. "Jake..." I croak with a tear sliding down my face.

"I love you Jake I always will." I say. "I'm sorry for any pain I've caused you. For any disappointment...." another tear slips from my eye. More tears come flooding down my cheeks and I shout out, "NO!"

I slide off the chair onto the floor, soaking in tears. My dad helps me up and I soak his shoulder.

"Why..." I cry. Why.

:( I don't like writing sad parts, it makes me sad.

Should there be a sequel??
Altho there's not gonna be anymore fanfics for Jake (except for maybe the sequel to this) because I no longer watch him :/ sorry
