Chapter Two

''Let me get this straight, Jungkook.'' Taehyung sighed and glanced at his best friend who sat at the opposite of him. They were talking for over an hour now and Jungkook explained to Taehyung that he began to feel a bit lonely. ''First of all, you have me. And second of all-'' . ''But I want more. Tae, please. It's just us and it has always been us. And I need to find a job soon.'' Jungkook was serious and Taehyung rolled his eyes when he took a last sip of his Pepsi.

He found Jungkook's words a bit ridiculous, but he just rolled with it. Jungkook wanted to focus on his conversation with Taehyung, but something caught him off guard. It happened a day ago and Jungkook was still thinking about it. It was haunting his mind and he couldn't even sleep well because of it. The fact that he nearly drowned and that someone or something saved him was still present in his mind. He decided to tell Taehyung about it. Of course, the two always told each other everything, and that's what best friends are for.

''Anyways.'' Jungkook said and Taehyung stared right into his eyes. ''I nearly drowned yesterday.'' Jungkook said those words really casually, like he wasn't almost dead then. ''What? Why didn't you tell me earlier!?'' Taehyung immediatly started to act worried about the safety of his best friend. ''I don't know. But it doesn't really matter anymore.'' Jungkook his fingers were playing with the straw in his coke glass. ''Why not? I think it's pretty serious-'' . ''Because I was saved by someone. But there is a problem, that someone is not of my species.'' Jungkook interrupted Taehyung without hesitation and his best friend lifted one of his eyebrows and looked at Jungkook like he didn't understand a single word the black-haired boy just said.

''Not of your species?'' Taehyung asked Jungkook and he nodded with his head. Jungkook bowed forward to the table and to Taehyung and lowered his voice. ''I think a mermaid saved me.'' Jungkook muttered and Taehyung sighed deep. Jungkook sat down in his chair again and crossed his arms for his chest. ''Kookie, please stop with this bullshit. I'm not in the mood for your stupid jokes. I really thought you drowned'' . ''I did! I swear! If the mermaid didn't save me, I would be dead. I owe him my life.'' Jungkook stared off into space while he said those words. ''You know it's a male?'' Taehyung said laughing, playing along with Jungkook.

The black-haired boy locked eyes with his best friend again and was a bit mad at him. ''If you can't take me serious, then leave. I know that it's real, I saw it with my own eyes.'' Taehyung didn't understand that Jungkook got so triggered about the mermaid bullshit, but the boy with the purple dyed hair didn't really care. ''Guess I'll see you tomorrow at the beach party then.'' Taehyung sighed and stood up from his chair. ''Yeah, bye.'' Jungkook said and Taehyung walked away from their table and eventually out of the beach café. If Taehyung didn't believe him, he had to figure it out alone. Jungkook got even more irritated at Taehyung when he realised that Taehyung left without paying. So that idiot let Jungkook pay for the drinks.

''Can I have the bill, please?'' Jungkook asked a waiter with bright green hair that walked by his table. ''It's on the house, don't worry about it.'' The waiter said to Jungkook and smiled a little bit. ''Oh, thanks.'' Jungkook thanked the waiter who still had a smile on his face. ''You are Jeon Jungkook, aren't you?'' The waiter asked him suddenly and the black-haired boy nodded with his head. ''Yeah, you are Taehyung's best friend. A bit of a weird question, but do you know if Taehyung already has a date for the beach party?'' Jungkook looked at the waiter and realised that he should be older than him because he looked more mature than Jungkook did.

Jungkook felt a stroke of anger, because he would go to the beach party with Taehyung but after the discussion he had with him, he really didn't want to go with him anymore. ''He is all yours, go for it.'' The boy with the black hair answered and wanted to walk away from the awkward situation, but the waiter grabbed his shoulder when he turned around, so he had to face him. ''Can you please give the name Min Yoongi to Taehyung? It's my name and then I can ask him out. Thanks, Jungkook.'' The waiter with the green hair thanked Jungkook who had to contain himself, because otherwise he had slapped the waiter named Yoongi in the face. ''No problem.'' Jungkook muttered and quickly walked away before Yoongi could ask him more stupid questions about Taehyung.
