Jungkook spent the rest of the day in his working room, but he didn't work. He listened to the songs Jimin sang and when Jimin stopped, Jungkook listened to the peaceful sounds of the envirement. Birds cheerping, the waves of the ocean, heavy raindrops falling from the grey cloudy sky and coming down on the ground. He rolled his office chair to the window and looked down to see that the pool was empty and Jimin was nowhere to be seen. Jungkook knew he was getting himself crazy constantly thinking over Jimin, so he needed some distraction. But he couldn't think of anything, his mind was blank. He didn't had many friends, as sad as it sounded. His best friend was Taehyung and that was it, he considered Yoongi as a friend though. Jimin was so much more to Jungkook than a friend. Were they lovers? Jungkook thought. No, they haven't kissed or even said that they were in love with each other. He hoped to confess it soon enough, before it was too late. The night fell when Jungkook finally decided to do something instead of thinking about Jimin while spinning around in his office chair. He took his phone out of his pocket and called Taehyung. Jungkook thought he wouldn't pick up, but at the last beep he finally heard Taehyung's voice. "Hey, Tae, I-" . "Can it please wait?'' The distressed voice of his best friend made Jungkook furrow his eyebrows. ''What's wrong?'' He asked. ''You always call at the worst times. I'm on my date with Yoongi right now.'' Taehyung answered and Jungkook immediatly held the phone tighter against his ear. ''Oh! How's it going? Are you guys having fun?'' The deep sigh of his best friend Jungkook heard on the other side of the phone made him smile a little. He loved to mess with Taehyung, even though it mostly was Taehyung who mostly messed around of the two of them. ''That's none of your buisness. Keep your mind on your crush on Jimin instead of the date I have. Everything is going fine, alright? There weren't any awkward silences-'' . ''Yet.'' Jungkook said with a smirk, interrupting his best friend. ''If I could slap you through the phone, Jeon Jungkook, then I would have done it a hundred times already.'' The black-haired boy kept the smirk on his face when he heard Taehyung's words. ''Alright, I won't bother you anymore. Have fun.'' Jungkook said. ''Thanks.'' His best friend sighed and hang up. Jungkook did the same and blankly stared at the phone screen, not knowing what to do. Eventually, he stood up from the office chair and walked into the bedroom. He stood still in the doorway, because Jimin sat on the bed and had his eyes closed, it looked like he was deep in his thoughts. Jungkook wanted to silently turn around and walk downstairs to not bother Jimin, but it was already too late. The red-haired boy opened his eyes and looked at Jungkook. ''I'm sorry, I didn't want to bother-'' . ''No, it's fine. Come sit next to me.'' Jimin immediatly said, interrupting Jungkook and patted on a spot next to him. Jungkook walked into the bedroom and sat down on the bed next to Jimin who locked eyes with him. ''Are you feeling well? I have the feeling that you're sick lately.'' Jungkook said concerned to the boy next to him and scratched the back of his head while thinking about the mermaid's health again. Jimin smiled weakly. ''Jungkook, I'm okay. I promise.'' Jimin said, but on the inside it felt like the pain was eating him alive. He felt like he slowly died, and maybe he did. But he covered it up with a smile, he prayed to god that Jungkook didn't notice anything else. He hoped that Jungkook wouldn't notice the blood-stained wipes, the amount of times Jimin threw up, and the fact that he was sickly pale. ''I hope so.'' Jungkook muttered and the mermaid immediatly felt awful again for lying to Jungkook, to the person he cared so much about. ''You know I don't want you to suffer, right? If there is something you want to tell me, then tell me. I'm concerned about you, Jiminie.'' Jungkook's words made Jimin feel terrible and he wished it wasn't like this. That he didn't have to lie to Jungkook. But he did, and he hated himself for it. ''There is nothing, I swear. I'm not sick, I just look like it.'' Jimin eventually said, but it was the opposite of what he really wanted to say. He wanted to tell Jungkook the truth, he hated lying. Jimin was an honest person, he never lied to his hyungs back home, so why would he do it to Jungkook? He felt so sick of himself, because he loved Jungkook more than anything. ''I'm going to make dinner.'' Jungkook softly said and stood up from the bed. ''Wait.'' The word came out rushed and Jimin grabbed Jungkook's left hand when he said it. ''Please stay with me. Just for a few minutes, I need you by my side.'' Jungkook immediatly obeyed and sat down again. He didn't let go of Jimin's hand and only held it tighter. It always felt like Jimin's touch brought Jungkook's mind at peace. When he had Jimin around him, he was calm. Jimin was the calmness itself, but he could be also be loud and excited, and that was what Jungkook loved about him. They sat in silence, not saying anything but just holding each others hand. The black-haired boy closed his eyes as he relaxed and he didn't open them when Jimin laid his head on Jungkook's shoulder, like he always did. This was something Jungkook would miss the dearest when Jimin would be gone. Loving each other in silence. They could love each other without saying any words about it, and maybe that was the purest form of love of them all. Jungkook felt how Jimin calmed down, because he was with Jungkook. When Jungkook had entered the room, he noticed Jimin was stressed out about something. But now, Jimin was at peace. And it was all because of Jungkook. He could not think about the fact that he had to give up on this, that this would end. Their secret love for each other would never end, that was for sure. But when Jimin was back home and Jungkook was alone, they couldn't see each other anymore. Not even talk to each other. The black-haired boy bit his underlip to prevent himself from shedding a tear when he thought about the fact that he would never hear Jimin's angelic voice again.
