''I have never dyed someone's hair before.'' Jungkook said to Jimin, while he scratched the back of his neck. The black-haired boy looked for probably the hundreth time on the package with the red hairdye and the instructions. Then he focused his eyes on Jimin's head with wet red hair. ''Does it look good?'' Jimin asked, he trusted Jungkook with his hair but still, he was kind of unsure if the result would come out looking like the beautiful flaming red hair on the package. ''Uh, kinda? It's still wet, I'll look for a hairdryer.'' Jungkook answered and looked around in the bathroom. Jimin sat on a chair in the middle of the bathroom with his back to the mirror, so that he couldn't see the result yet.
Jungkook opened the cabinets filled with stuff for emergencies, like bandages, bandaids and pills. ''Found it.'' Jungkook said and grabbed the black hairdryer that was hidden in the back of a messy cabinet. The boy plugged it in and started to dry Jimin's red hair. When he was done, he took a step back and looked at the boy on the chair. ''How does it look?'' Jimin asked carefully and Jungkook shook his head confused. ''I- I don't know what to say'' . ''Did you just fuck up my hair?'' Jimin asked the black-haired boy impatient. Jungkook couldn't say a word and it made Jimin irritated. He couldn't hold himself back anymore and turned around to face himself in the mirror.
When the boy saw his own reflection with his new hair, his mouth fell open of suprise. He closed it a few seconds after and took a step closer to the mirror. ''Damn, I look fine as hell.'' Jimin said and a wide smile appeared on his face. ''You like it?'' Jungkook asked him, the black-haired boy found his ability to speak back. ''I love it.'' Jimin answered, while running his hands through his red hair. ''Why didn't you say anything about it when I asked you?'' Jimin asked Jungkook, looking at the black-haired boy in the mirror. ''Because you look beautiful with it, stunning even.'' Jungkook answered, not giving a damn about Jimin's puffy cheeks who got as red as his hair.
''Oh, thanks.'' Jimin muttered and lowered his head in an attempt to hide his blushing.''You get to say it, but when I say it, you hide your face in shame?'' Jungkook asked Jimin who bit his lip, while he still looked down. ''You are the first human who thinks I'm beautiful'' . ''Well, you are. In fairytales, mermaids are always gorgeous.'' Jungkook said to Jimin who finally looked up at him. His cheeks weren't that red anymore, but you could still see that Jimin was flattered. Jungkook needed to hold himself back from squeezing the puffy cheeks Jimin had.
''You really are the most magnificent human I've ever seen.'' Jimin whispered, a bit afraid to say the words out loud. Jungkook still heard them though and he bit his lip to prevent himself from grinning like an idiot. ''You doubted that?'' Jungkook asked the red-haired boy. ''No, I have just seen a lot of humans. From a distance, but still. And you are the most amazing one of them all.'' Jimin said and the expression on Jungkook's face said it all. He was flattered, but also confused. From all the humans Jimin had seen, and that was a lot, he thought Jungkook was the best of them all.
But Jungkook wasn't half as good as Jimin thought. No, the black-haired boy wasn't insecure about himself, but he felt a disgust every time he thought about the things he had done in his life. Because that weren't much and he was ashamed of it. If Jimin was in his place, he knew that Jimin would have travelled over the world because of his curiousness. But Jungkook was stubborn and used to his house, the beach and the little village that he sometimes went to. Jungkook wasn't that adventurous and curious like Jimin was. If he was a mermaid, Jungkook wouldn't even go on land. He didn't like the unknown and didn't want to explore it either.
He realised that Jimin helped him, without noticing it before. From the moment Jimin saved him, he helped him. Because where Jimin would go, Jungkook would too. Not only Jimin explored new things, Jungkook did too. He would take Jimin everywhere. The silence between the two boys was awkwardly long, but a thought suddenly popped into Jungkook's head. ''Um, Jimin? There is a beach party tonight at a beachcafé, would you come with-'' . ''A beach party? A real party? Ofcourse, why would you even ask that? Oh my god, I'm so excited!'' Jimin almost jumped in the air, because of how excited he was.
''But it's full of people and I-'' . ''Even better! I love to feel like a human.'' Jimin smiled and walked up to Jungkook. He grabbed Jungkook's hands and looked him into the eyes, he hoped that he could really win Jungkook over. There weren't any dangers for Jimin at a beach party. ''Can you please stop interrupting me? What if someone drops a bucket of water on your head and your tail appears in front of everyone? Jimin, I don't know anymore if it's such a good idea.'' Jungkook said, worrying about everything that could go wrong.
But Jimin had a special talent that always worked on his hyungs. He looked at Jungkook with his dark brown puppy eyes and pouted his soft plump lips. ''Please, Jungkookie?'' Jimin asked the boy. Jungkook couldn't handle it when someone begged to him, especially when Jimin did it. The boy he had feelings for. Those begging puppy eyes and his pink pouted lips were Jungkook's weakness. ''Fine.'' He muttered defeated. ''We'll go, but you stay with me and also away from any kind of liquid.'' Jimin looked happy and he hugged Jungkook, because he loved it that they would still go tonight. It was their first hug and the black-haired boy didn't hesitate with wrapping his arms around Jimin. The mermaid was glad that Jungkook still said yes and that they would go to the party together, because he loved to go somewhere with Jungkook.
