Just Friends

On your birthday you called my phone
Ugly, you asked if I was alone
My eyes squinted, as I smirked
Told you to reach to my home
You came over
And over and over between the moans

It was my birthday,
Heart racing, mind blurred
I had to call him, as a tear slipped.
Knowing his true self
A true lady killer, I was going to end up broken again
Yet my heart beats only for him

Forced straight through your cerebral
I took my wicked ways
Intent to taint you feeble
As time makes your body age
I'm not your lover, just a friend
I'll never tell you that, so I pretend

I let him feed on my beauty
Feast on my soul, captivate my mind.
Giving him the power to kill me
And he did it unknowingly,
He doesn't need to know my darkest hidden emotions
So I cut him off and enjoys

I killed you that night as I tore you apart
You wanted me to love you
So I gave you my deluded heart
You went home in a yellow checkered hurst
A permasmile on your face,
And a fake letter that I wrote that I put inside your purse

A birdbrain was what he thought I was,
Ripping that letter in half, that poisonous letter I felt dirty, impure.
That night I had to cleansed myself, I could feel claws in my weakened heart.
Love was a bane and slaughtered me.

Fast forward 6 months to my birthday
I called you on your phone
You texted me that you were busy
I'm now a killer sitting in the darkness all alone
My victims feel I tricked them so they all moved on
I got sloppy, you caught me, too cocky and now you're gone

That fateful day arrived, his birthday.
Dreams shattered, I stare at the bright moments captured, your fake smiles
A hollow laugh I threw away those presents meant for him; I was still in love yet I ignored him like a plague.
So many girls, too many, I'll never be his one and only
A prize, a possession was all I was to him, just a friend.
