Petals of those rotten roses underneath me,
Wallowing in isolation on the beach
Too deep in my thoughts reaching the sea,
Eyes closed as I get immersed by those waves to escape,
You crossed my mind yet you're the reason for my woe.

I know I am, and I can't believe
you kept those stupid flowers.
Do you remember when I gave them to you?
I said good bye then.
Now I pray, not even for a second chance,
But just that you're gonna be alright.

Never meant to be good enough was my acceptance of fates cruelty.
I was saved from being engulfed by a knight,
But was being saved what I desired from this world of mockery?
A life where he'll never be mine while I keep feeling the hurt!
Yet I'll live with the fact that he left me for another woman leaving me in a pitch of darkness.

You may have been saved from him
But this knight in shining armor
Fell slave to your will the moment
You looked his way.
Then he held your promises in irreverent hands and look where that got us.

The once gentleman saving me spread his tales of bravery
Yet kept the forbidden ones to ourselves.
He became an escape from reality,
Bedding him an addiction to get over my previous lover who knew nothing but to filled my life with umbrageous,
I never could give my heart to that knight for it belonged to someone else, to him.

It slowly killed me to watch you with him.
I deserved it, I knew I did.
But your fire burns too fierce
For a gentle man like your "gentleman".
You broke him like I broke you,
Like life broke us both.

I ended up breaking his heart like mine was once broken.
Seven painful years Iater here I stand with my first love,
The one who stole my first breath, my heart and owns my body.
Only death shall part us as we kissed under the rain.

Only death shall part us as we kissed under the rain
