Poppy's P.O.V
"I just want to know why" he questioned seriously as he looked at me with a frown. I sighed as he was starting to get on my nerves, I thought this was going to be easy but I guess he's too much of an idiot to take a hint. "I've already told you Matt, my f-" "Your father loves me Poppy" he interrupts with a glare and I glared back at him, No he doesn't he just acts like he likes you in front of me dimwit, I thought before I retorted with, "Fine, you want to know the real reason? You don't satisfy my needs. You never did" I said with anger and for a second I saw his eyes flash with an intensity of rage but then it turned to his usual arrogant, cocky look.
"That's bullshit and you and I both know it, anyhow, it's her isn't it?" he asked as he released a sly smirk under laced with anger, usually I would have brushed off his comment but this I couldn't, it entitled her.
So I acted like I brushed off his comment and I set my bitch glare at him, "I don't know what your fucking idiotic mouth is talking about Matt" I settled at and he tsked at me before chuckling, "What does Hartley mean to you Poppy? What does that man dyke mea-" Instantly my hand connected with his cheek, the sound of the slap making a surrounding sound that traveled along the hallway. How dare he call my Hartley those words, did he want to die? I thought angrily.
He looked at me with real anger now showing through his eyes and he scoffed as he looked me up and down and I was just about to slap him again for looking me in that way but one of his buddies had passed by and so he looked at me one more time, pointed at me before walking off with his buddies. I needed to find her, I needed her, I needed her ASAP.
Once I spotted her, I strutted towards her as I watched her try to throw grapes into her best friend, Richie's open mouth. God she's such a dork I thought as I made my way across the football field and towards the pair. She still wore raggedy clothes and I made a reminder to ask her why she dressed this way, however this didn't hinder what I felt for her. Richie had spotted me first so he literally jumped over to her and pushed her down, furthermore moving her head for her towards me. I walked with my head held high and a smirk on my lips as our eyes connected.
My eyes traveled down to her lips and instantly my body began to be filled with a burning desire. She was actually smiling at me and for once in my life I began to feel my hard exterior soften in front of her eyes. When I had reached them, my eyes turned hard as I looked at Richie, silently telling him to leave, he looked at me and then at Hartley and once he understood what I was trying to say, he got up and clumsily left us alone. I then looked down at Hartley to see her leaned back on her elbows on the grass and she looked up at me with a smile.
"To what do I owe this pleasure" she says boringly and I glare at her before giving her a smile and I went to sit beside her but she reached out to stop me, "Uh, what are you doing?" she asks curiously as she watches me and I look at her weird before slapping her hand away so I could sit on the grass, "I'm sitting next to you" I said in a "duh" tone of voice and she looked at me weirdly for a few seconds before she smiled causing my heart to go into a fit of hiccups.
"I just thought that the high class queen of Avery High wouldn't like to sit on dirty grass" she said as she shrugged and I stayed quiet as I stared at her. Her pale skin slightly reddened in the sun and the sun's rays shined in her short blonde hair. I smiled absentmindedly as I reached out and held her chin, directing her to look at me, her green eyes sparkled under the sun's rays causing the color of her eyes to look like the color emerald.
