"Emma, I'm still alive you know!"

I almost fell off my bed. War startled me.

"Is your phone broken or something?"

"Sorry, War. I've been really busy."

"Busy kissing Mark?"

"Volume down, please. My sister is in the room next door."

War removes his loafers and removes his socks. He pulls a drawer from bedside cabinet and takes a pair of my socks. With no hesitation, he puts them on. This is no shock to me because he does this all the time. He climbs my bed and arranges my pillows.

"Can I ask you a favor, my Sistah?"

My eye brows wrinkle.

"It depends on the favor."

"I promise you, Emma. You will be fully compensated."

"What do you mean?"

"I mean, my dad will pay us."

"Pay us for what?"

"My dad wants me to come visit my dying grandfather in his behalf. I told him I will only come if you with me and if he will pay you in advance before we fly to Korea."

"Korea? Really? For free? Everything free?"

"Well not everything. I mean Dad won't pay for your Starbucks cards or whatevs. Dad will pay for airfare, accommodations, food and entertainment. Plus he promised that we get to visit Kukkiwon."

I jump on the bed and grab War's arm.

"Seriously, War? Are you pulling my leg or somethig. It's my dream to go to Kukkiwon. The World Headquarters of Taekwondo! Tell me you are not joking."

"You are not joking."

"War! Say it! Say I AM NOT JOKING."

"Nongdam aniya."

"What?"

"I said it already."

"What did you say?"

"I said it already."

I twist War's left wrist.

"Okay. Okay. Stop."

"Say it."

"I am not joking."
