I bandaged up my little brother's wounds, they looked so much worse closer than far away. I wiped the sweat from my brow, it started to get hotter out. Maybe because the season changing or maybe because we'll be in a middle of a desert soon. I can't believe that bastard of an elf had the guts to hurt Jack. I looked at him, he was still unconscious but it worried me that he might not wake up. I heaved a sigh, I needed water. I went outside of the tent and looked around, Zac and Alison were outside waiting to see how Jack was doing.

" He's still unconscious, but he'll be better now that I covered the wounds in antibiotics..." I told them.

I hope the medicine works, I found my brother and I didn't want to lose him again.

" Can I see him?" Zac asked.

I know he was worried, but Jack isn't doing so well.

" Give him some time. I know you care, but he needs to sleep." I replied.

Zac looked down, I know he really loves Jack, but I don't want Jack to get an infection.

" I...Understand..." Zac said before he turned around and walked to his tent.

I frowned, Alison came over to me and held my hand.

" He'll be fine Max, he just as worried as you." She told me.

I looked at her, my vision getting blurry.

" I can't lose him Alison..." I croaked.

She hugged me and rubbed my back, telling me everything was going to be okay. That night I didn't really sleep, I mean, how could I? My brother might die either from this heat or from his wounds. Alison said she would stay up to take care of him, but I still felt uneasy. I got up and went into the tent Jack was being taken care of in, moving the tent flap open carefully so I wouldn't disturb him. Alison was kneeling by his left side, putting what looked like a wet cloth on his forehead. Jack was sweating Profusely, he was even more pale than before. I noticed Alison was looking at me.

" Couldn't sleep?" She whispered.

" Yeah... how is he?" I whispered back as I knelt by her.

She seemed to frown and looked at him, " Not well... I'm afraid that he might..."

She stopped and looked down, I knew what she was going to say. She knew it would leave me in denial.

"...I can't lose him Alison...I just got him back..." I said, holding back tears.

She looked at me and hugged me, rubbing my back, " He's tough like you...I'm sure he'll pull through."

I hugged her, nodding.

" You're right. I have to be strong for him..." I mumbled.

She smiled at me and looked at him, " He'll pull through...I know it."

She got up and patted my shoulder, I held her hand.

"I'm going to get some sleep, wake me if anything happens."

I watched her as she left and I stayed by Jack's side throughout that night.

"How are you feeling?" I asked Jack.

We were walking down a path, looking for food.

"I told you a million times, I feel fine!" He chuckled.

It's been three weeks since the incident and he's healing quickly. I was afraid I would never see my brother again. Our group manage to find camp on the outside of Teladant, A trading city that was on the border of the desert and forest land. We were only to stay for a few days, but some elven guards barricaded the forest land we had to move around the desert. Ever since our escape, the Elves have been on our tails. We didn't expect to stay long in Teladant anyways.
