Chapter One

"Breathe in, breathe out."I told myself, "Breathe in,Breathe out." I kept repeating that as I sat, criss-crossed.

I heard a noise and jumped up in a standing position.At first I heard nothing, then, "THUNK!"

I went over to the door to see what was happening, there I saw two men at MY door.

"You Max Silvers?"

I nodded,"Who's asking?"

"The king wanted us to tell you they found something."

I nodded,"You want to move real quick."

They looked confused at first but when they saw me raised my leg towards the door, they bolted.I kicked the door down, making it fall down in the hallway.

I stepped out, "Lead the way."

They nodded, a little scared and we headed to the throne room.

I put on my shirt as we went into the room, still nothing had changed in the past six months.The throne room looked the same, only there was a crowd around the Throne, Madam Katherine on it.

She looked at me, "Max, it's been awhile since we last saw you."

'We'?I looked at the group of people and saw familiar faces, only a pair of green eyes was all I saw, no doubt who it was.I looked down and then back at the King.

"You called for me?"

She nodded, "We figured how to reverse the...er..your condition.all of your conditions."

I nodded.

"But, there's a problem.We sent men to get the ingredients, only they haven't return."

I crossed my arms, men disappearing?hmm...I'm thinking they're just being lazy or having a fun night.

"We suspect maybe hijackers, raiders, even dragons at this point.We need help."

"I'm sorry, I'm not trying to be rude here, but what about the other guards?"I asked.

She raised an eyebrow at me,"They're here protecting the city, like they are told too."

I sighed, "Alright,my apologies..."

I stepped back, only to trip over something, sending me spiraling backwards

I finally stopped and I let out a huff, "Oops, sorry Max, I didn't mean to make you trip!"

I looked up to see small green eyes and a sharp-toothy smile.

"Oh hey Bryce. how are ya?"

He flew off me to let me sit up and slightly chuckled, "Oh y'know, visiting old friends!"

I rolled my eyes and was about to stand up when a hand stuck out to help me.I look up to see it was Alison and I took it.

"Thank you, Ali.."I said as I stand, "No problem."She gave me a simple smile and walked back to the throne.

I walked back as well and Bryce sat on my shoulder, "I see the sprite likes you Max."

I nodded and Bryce knuckle rubbed my head, "Max was the only human who ever treated me like I wasn't JUST a sprite."

I nodded, "Indeed."

Katherine seemed amused by this, "It's nice to have a friend who is a sprite, especially an earth one.They can help you in forests, mountains, anything related to the earth."I nodded.
